This has nothing to do with physical media. I gotta say, you're a master at moving the goalposts and gaslighting.
Also, Big Sean's album was announced alongside his single and the date was set. Sure, it was pushed back a couple weeks, but it came with a date.

So that "Every pop artist does it" is really just a couple of flops lol.
You’re complaining that he’s selling a vinyl without a tracklist or release date. How does that not have anything to do with physical media?
Completely disregard that fact that you threw in Big Sean's name thinking I wasn't gonna look it up
Can't argue with a stan.

Okay, my mistake. It’s still happened plenty of times before, you can ask anyone who collects vinyl. It’s not new whatsoever
I remembered the Big Sean album being in limbo for weeks before the 08/30 date was announced, that’s why I thought he announced it without a date originally
uh ohhhh

Love Tyler, but nah

"Jelly Roll"
Love Tyler, but nah
/shrug, Tyler's last album outsold Weeknd's last
I've not seen an album get more hype than this Tyler one in a while tbh. This guy somehow still has young people obsessed with his music
but he doesn't care about numbers at all unlike the weeknd so i guess we'll see

It outsold it by 21K with the help of 50K coming from pure sale physical copies. Dawn FM didn’t have any physical bundles first week, its’ pure sales were only 14K digital downloads.
Removing the physicals, CMIGYL would’ve done 119K.
Dawn did 148K without any physicals. It out-streamed CMIGYL by 20 million the first week
naurrrr
Won't be saying anything nobody else doesn't know already lol
Tyler The Creator dropping randomly on a Monday while The Weeknd and Carti can't even secure a release date!
The benefit of being an album artist vs a singles artist.
Carti isn't even close to being a "singles artist." The nigga barely even had a hit on his last album.
The Weeknd is half and half though. He's lowkey mainly known by his singles but has a decent body of work.
Do we think Tyler will get a number one single out of this new album? It’d be his first right?

Yeah and I think Tyler's fanbase has grown since then, whilst Weeknd's has shrunk
I see this in my circles at least, there's far more hype for Tyler's album than Weeknd's. Even before the release date was announced

There is absolutely nothing to suggest this
Tyler is doing 13M daily streams on Spotify, Weeknd is doing 42M.
Even if Tyler’s fanbase has grown since 2021, it’s still literally nowhere near Weeknd’s.
And before you say something about that being a global stat, Tyler is at #37 on US Spotify, Weeknd is at #7.
And before you say that’s because Weeknd just dropped two new singles, if you look at a random date from this summer, Weeknd was at #14 and Tyler at #35.
You’re probably gonna end up saying that it’s because of Weeknd’s back catalog, which is partially true, but Tyler’s most recent song in his most daily streamed is from 2021 and doing 270K daily, but Weeknd has a song from last year doing 2.8 million daily

He had no singles issued but Sky became the hit anyway

In think he or she is right about this. This is purely from a dedicated fanbase perspective. the announcement pic / video have 200k+ likes, and the video teaser has like 5m in 2 days. Its clearing 100k 200k is what hes shooting for Imo

I get that, but social media engagement isn’t really a good barometer of what an album will sell first week. Dawn FM is the perfect example of that, the announcement and reveal had crazy engagement on socials, but then the album didn’t do crazy numbers
