Neither Weeknd nor Carti are singles’ artists

When you drop pre-orders for an album over a MONTH ago, with NO release date in sight what does that tell you?
Maybe he'll get a date if one of those singles ever sneak back near the top 10 for more than 1 week.
I was being nice calling Carti a singles artists lol, he's neither. Just looking like a bad investment that'll sell some red hats and hoodies to little kids

Tells you that they want the album to sell well?
I’m not sure how that dictates someone being an album artist vs. a singles artist

It tells me that they are trying to maximize the first week numbers. It has absolutely nothing to do with being a singles artist.
The release date is confirmed to be sometime before March 7th, it just hasn't been revealed yet

They REQUIRE a hot single to launch an album. What does that tell you? We're in the streaming era where a hot song can move 20k albums a week (shoutout Shaboozey)
It's unfortunate that an artist as big as The Weeknd can't secure a date- but that's the industry for you.
It's giving Cardi B at this point. (with Carti, not The Weeknd)

The release date is sometime before March 7th because of Billboard rules.
You can only have a 6 month pre-order period for your album.
What a piece of s*** collecting money from fans for half a year just to stack some first week numbers lmao.

Every pop artist does lengthy open pre-orders what are you talking about
KTT must not be hip to the vinyl game because artists have been doing practices like that for years yet some of y'all think Weeknd is the first one to have an open pre-order for an upcoming album

Every pop artist is doing lengthly pre-orders for albums with no date or tracklist?
Put some names on it

It's too many to count, but I have personally pre-ordered numerous vinyl for albums that didn't have a specific release date at the time. Weeknd is not the first nor the last artist to do that

I've been collecting for years so I'd have to go back in my catalog and look exactly, but this year alone Big Sean, Rocky, and Carti have done it. I've seen the phrase "release date to be revealed at a later date" so many times

"Every pop artist does it"- and you name Big Sean, ASAP Rocky, and the guy who I just said can't secure a release date.
You know sometimes it's better saying "you were right" rather than go on and on and on?...

Pop artist/popular artist same difference.
I've literally been collecting for years, The Weeknd is not the first artist to do an open pre-order, nor will he be the last

You named three bums.
I did find it hilarious you put The Weeknd on the same level as Big Sean tho

I'm not putting them on the same level, just showing that it's a common practice amongst mainstream artists

You're saying it's common practice and there's so many artists that do it that it's "so hard to count", and you give me f***ing Big Sean and ASAP Rocky (who hasn't dropped an album since 2018) as an example.
No point in going back and forth. Hopefully you get that album sooner than later lol.

I'm not sitting here racking my brain for which artists exactly dropped an open pre-order in the past 10 years. All I know is I've seen it before. If you collected vinyl, you would know

No way you're shifting this to be about VINYL
I'm talking about the ALBUM. Ofc sometimes vinyl isn't pressed and ready to ship the same time as the album releases on other formats
This is about him selling a f***ing album cover with no release date or tracklist LMFAO

That’s exactly what I’m saying
There have been plenty of albums that had a physical pre-order before the tracklist or date was revealed, it’s not a new practice at all.
Like I said, if you collect any type of physical music at all, you would know that

This has nothing to do with physical media. I gotta say, you're a master at moving the goalposts and gaslighting.
Also, Big Sean's album was announced alongside his single and the date was set. Sure, it was pushed back a couple weeks, but it came with a date.

So that "Every pop artist does it" is really just a couple of flops lol.
