at their current trajectory, not like us and like that have the potential to dwarf every song from FATD in popularity by year’s end

literally all of drake’s songs and features this year have either underperformed or flopped (by his standards). those yeat/4batz features don’t even register in most ppls minds anymore

yes, catalog-wise he’s obviously still the biggest ever but y’all are shamelessly lying rn. his red-button “nuke” w/ a full tracking week and high-budget mv is being outstreamed by a horrorcore song. let’s be serious

Its ALL because of Drake!! He wins either way!!

In what universe is the Family Matters video a "high-budget" video? Also, your post does nothing to make an argument against the point that the only Kendrick songs that have gotten any real motion since his last album have been the songs where he's dissing Drake. A point that can only be refuted if/when he drops new music that isn't targeted at Drake and that music puts up monster numbers.

Maybe no one would be saying this if y'all cared to support any one of the songs off Kendrick's last album or any of the features Kendrick did after that album but no, y'all only knew to show up on songs where he's dissing Drake and people are wrong for pointing that out?

Again, GKMC/DAMN putting up numbers isn't surprising. Those two albums haven't left the Billboard 200 for years (even though their recent boost in chart activity is also directly linked to the beef). However, albums like TPAB/MMATBS only re-entered the Billboard 200 because of interest related to the beef. Suggesting otherwise is simply being disingenuous.

No one is saying Kendrick is some scrub who NEEDS Drake to be successful but it is notable that none of his recent music (not even the music on his first album after a 5-year hiatus) had this kind of momentum. Suggesting that it's happening inside a bubble and solely because of Kendrick is being disingenuous so I don't get why y'all are acting like it's such a reach to say that Drake has a lot to do with it. Kendrick's catalog wasn't even doing these numbers THE WEEK his last album dropped lmao.

Again, all Kendrick has to do to kill off this narrative is to drop an album/single outside of the beef with Drake that puts up similar monster numbers and I'll be the first one to take back my words. But until then...

I’d be more inclined to believe in this diss stimulus stuff if:

    a) it happened to literally anybody else he’s been beefing with

    b) drake’s own singles hadn’t been underperforming recently

drake had the same eyes on him that kendrick did. only one of them was able to do this. if drake had the smash instead you wouldn’t see me trying to spin that as a W for kendrick in any capacity

I’ll concede your point if drake’s next single is a force. otherwise to me it looks like drake just isn’t as far away from everyone else as he used to be in hitmaking ability

Kendrick my number one listened to artist oat, and been a fan since OD sister

I agree the beef has helped more casuals get put onto Kendricks music, we are all very aware Morale is not the kind of album a casual listened can just put on outside a couple tracks. Same goes for TPAB. But GKMC has never left the BB200 and DAMN. was one of the first albums to have every song have 100m streams

But his success from this is not just because people hate Drake, its because Kendrick has given us the quality to match. NLU is a certified banger that is already transcending the beef atp. Euphoria is full of catchy quotables that tiktok and s*** have ran with aswell

I saw people say Like That would vanish aswell and its outperforming FM after being released months ago

Imma tell you again, stick to that junkie Post Malone and leave hip hop alone. I don't give a damn about streaming numbers only delusional Drake stans are obsessed with that 'cause they know his music is trash and ain't got nothing meaningful.

Yeah, I'm happy Kendrick's getting mad streams, but no one's fixated on it like you. I listen to Kendrick for his lyrics, not 'cause he got millions of streams.

You Drake stans are ed, not caring that he openly making fun of black culture and exploits it on a daily basis. Fck off already.

Why hasn’t Drake had a real hit in years?
Why did "First Person Shooter" flop?
Why did "Polar Opposites" flop with only 6 million views on YouTube?
Why did the single with Sexy Red and SZA flop with just 20 million views after 3 months?
Why does "Broke My Heart" have only 12 million views even with a music video?
Why did "Family Matters" end up at number 8 instead of number 1 if Drake’s supposed to be the king of streams?
Why did "Heart Part 6" flop?
Why does no one listen to "Push Ups"?
Why does "8pm in Charlotte" have only 4 million views on YouTube?

Drake hasn’t been as popular as he used to be for a while now. Forget the views and streams, look at the quality. Check out this music video...

Clown s***. This is what you support? This is hip hop to you? You cool with Drake literally shaking his gay ass? LOL.

Id take quality music over Drake’s crap that's losing its appeal to more and more people.

Kendrick is already one of the GOATs, even if he never sells another album. He’s probably going to end up with the most Grammys of any hip hop artist in history. He won a Pulitzer Prize, something Blackface Drake will never achieve with his trash music.

Kendrick is mentioned alongside legends like Jay-Z, Quincy Jones, and Stevie Wonder, while you're hyped about some Canadian culture vulture twerking his ass off for likes and views, LOL.

If that's the case then he should have zero issues replicating that success with the singles/album he drops next. We'll see what happens.

Very much depends on the type of album he drops though

He has an album formula he seemingly follows

    GKMC - commercial leaning
    TPAB - left field
    DAMN. - commercial leaning
    Morale - left field

If he releases an album with more pop appeal like GKMC and DAMN. i’d expect it to do well. Maybe not NLU numbers, but very good numbers

These are the two points I'm trying to make:
    1. Kendrick beefing with Drake is directly responsible for his recent boost in numbers (a fact that I think is silly to try to disagree with).
    2. He hasn't magically gained millions of fans because of the numbers he's put up since the beef like some fans seem to think.

That's all. Never said Kendrick was a scrub who couldn't put up numbers at all or who needed Drake to put up numbers.

We'll see what his new album does and since all of you seem confident enough that it'll be massive thanks to his new slew of fans courtesy of the beef, I'll be looking forward to the monster numbers he puts up.

I love how you say say all of you think he’ll do monstrous numbers after i just said it depends what type of album he drops

If he drops a commercially appealing album similiar to DAMN. then i’d expect it to do similiar numbers to it. When Kendrick drops mainstream appealing albums, they have long and lasting mainstream success

Also, noone argues against this beef benefiting him. But it’s the semantic narrative that its ONLY cos he’s beefing with Drake that he’s seeing this ridiculous success. If he dropped some duds as a diss, they wouldnt be seeing the same numbers

I just feel a handful of Drake stans are discrediting how good the disses are to just ‘oh its only cos he’s beefing with Drake’. Is it one of the reasons? Yes. Is it the only reason? No. Simple as that
