“objectively flopped” btw
. The album definitely underperformed a bit but it’s definitely not a flop lmao
So he's ahead of Bad Bunny again this week?
Yeah he’s ahead this week. Will probably be the last week it spends at #1 with 1989tv coming out friday

If For All the Dogs objectively flopped then I wonder what can be said about Bad Bunny's album.
Flashing Lights peaked at 29 while Good Life peaked at 7 for instance, I agree those are timeless though
I don't understand this point of bigger singles, when Views as an album is still as big as Grad
Rap pre-streaming was not represented well on Billboard, even though Flashing Lights peaked at #29 in 2007 it’s still a timeless and iconic single

I agree with you, still not understanding how it's somehow bigger than Views - they sold the same and are known by pretty much the same generation of listeners

Casuals care about singles. Graduation has a bigger number of huge singles than Views does, simple as that

Views is looked back on alongside the 2016 albums (alot of peoples most nostalgia era) the same way Grad and Carter 3 are of that era
They aren't different lol
Blink-182 is still that big?
also had no idea the rolling stones had another album, didn't even know they were making new music

Just in your head
I thought FATD did way way better than I expected
Solid holds
Getting absolutely nothing from pure sales
Not scorpion or CLB size but still bigger than any album other than those two and midnights in the streaming era and it’s his 4th album in 24 months
If everyone keeps underperforming streaming wise does that mean we got to start lowering the expectations? Like maybe these type of numbers will just be the new norm going forward

No, let's keep unrealistic expectations for only Drake but keep making excuses for everyone else who underperforms.
Gonna be real interesting to see how 1989tv does streaming wise. Granted it’s a re-recording so it’s not supposed to hold up as well as a regular album but even then, if it does underperform streaming wise then that’ll by the 3 biggest artists in the world rn all underperforming in the same month.

It'll debut with at least 1.5M units. Regardless of how that breaks down between pure sales/streaming, it'll still be a monster debut and the biggest since Midnights last year.

If Drake been selling 500k+ since he started idk why'd u think that shouldn't be the expectation for him
Drake, in year 15 and after 17 full-length career releases, still gets higher commercial expectations placed on his releases than newer superstars lol.
I hope he really does disappear for like 2 years so we can see what the rap landscape looks like without him being active and everyone adjusts their expectations moving forward.

I never said it wasn’t?
The initial question was whether Graduation belongs in the tier with GRODT or the tier with Views & Carter 3.
It’s pretty obvious to me that it belongs in the former category

Yeah I know it’ll do well because of pure overall. I’m more focused on the streaming aspect of the album tho because it seems like hardly any albums have held up streaming wise this year. Only albums that have had some real longevity are that peso pluma and morgan wallen albums that I can think of
