Yea this thread was a kendrick hate thread but that doesn't change the fact no one has said x sold more so it's better than y. Most people are making arguments that sales are relative to the artist.

Kendricks album for example based on first day numbers and based on hype did way less than it shouldve. Thats what most people were saying. People just wernt going back to the album. Same with lil uzi pink tape.

yeah no one will outright say x is better than y off of sales or charts because it is essentially an indefensible position lmao, they’ll dress it up with “well it flopped so it wasn’t enjoyable”

I mean if you take radio away the charts would look way different.

kpop has same streams as snooze but is like 20 spots lower because snooze has more radio

That Billie track has more streams then most of the top 10 but stuck at 14 because it barely has any radioplay they need to kill radio for the charts man that s*** ain’t fair

Some songs would be 40+ spots lower with no radio. Then when it comes to chart longevity thats mainly because radio keeping songs a float.

how many threads were posted in music sxn talking about how dry hip-hop has been this year for the charts, its been nonexistent all year and industry people notice this and music exec start to draft plans to not bleed money by pushing the wrong genre

u can tell music is shifting and the grip that hiphop had is fading

and what happens when the A tier rappers retire like kenny/cole/drake/ye, whos next to carry the torch and release albums that resonate with the masses and mark a cornerstone for that year with their releases. To have that affect, your music has to reach past just hiphop fans and resonate with listeners who normally would not listen to rap. Music execs most likely see this dilemma coming and are pushing to a new genre
