Cole has always been nice and he has somehow managed to get even better as time has passed but it doesn't weigh as much in these conversations because he hasn't found a way to translate that into making better records. I feel like while Kendrick was a more raw, lyrical type A rapper at the beginning of his career, he eventually learned how to fine-tune his skill set into being able to make better records while not losing his edge. Drake has done the same but only Cole is still only prioritizing just pure bars over musicality.

I could give a f*** what critics think. Drake's music connects with more people and more people go back to his music than Cole's music so he's doing something right. Cole, on the other hand, has the worst-performing back catalog between Drake, Kendrick and Cole and you somehow think him just rapping more impressively will fix that lol. That'll only change when he starts making better music overall, not just rhyming more technically proficiently (hell at this point, since he's allegedly retiring after this album, it might be too late).
