True, they can be considered ''masterwork'' despite being childish. But it will always be considered childish/weird if a grown man is gravitating towards cartoons when you can find real movies or tv series that brings those messages as the one in OP. Those are way more similar to real life situations

Animation doesn’t mean that it’s for kids. A lot of popular anime literally is made for kids but that doesn’t mean animation in general = kids.

Perfect Blue alone has deeper, more mature themes than 90% of the s*** Hollywood is pumping out. I wouldn’t write off animation entirely as medium. There are so many things you can achieve in animation that can’t be achieved in live action

barely watching naruto at that age is kinda crazy considering everything else hes not heard in other aspects of entertainment is crazy but oh well
