I like the show but the worlds obsession with evil superman is telling.

I liked Dictator Superman but DC just keeps on doing it and it’s getting really repetitive and boring

    "top level creative decision making"

the same ppl that supposedly value artistic direction undercut it for the executives. Some of these critics are actually batshit cuz the cognitive dissonance is real.

That's what I'm saying, critics are now irrelevant.

Meh I mean not really. He grew up as Clark Kent and has even stated that he is Clark Kent and if he were Superman all the time he'd go crazy. Maybe at the daily planet he is putting on a show a bit but he is Clark

Yeah the idea that “Clark is the act” is exclusive to his behavior at work as a reporter for the Daily Planet. In his everyday life as Clark Kent that’s the real guy

Now Bruce Wayne? That’s completely an act, the result of the broken psyche of a manchild who is essentially Peter Pan as a goth ninja Sherlock Holmes

Wonder Woman appearing in BvS is still one of my favorite CBM moments

The score is a huge part of that

Awesome characterization, Zack gets Diana Prince more than any other DC character I’d argue. Which makes sense given his love for ancient mythology. This is why WW84 desperately needed Snyder

Something as small as this smirk goes a long way it’s just perfect

The story always falls off at the end because he eventually just comes off as a maniac when he couldve been written as a methodical overseer.

Do zoomers even care about Reeve Superman like that?

It’s mainly the 50+ age group that cares about Reeves Superman based off nostalgia. That generation is still a large part of the film critic industry and are always expecting every other Superman to be Reeves, it’s annoying af

I preferred Wonder Woman the most in BvS so far tbh. She certainly gets an arc in her own titular film, but its just such a painfully generic one we have seen from so many other superheroes at this point that it did nothing for me. And obviously the sequel is an absolute dumpster fire.

It's sad because I do hope she gets a good movie one day, but so far the only time her character ever worked for me were in these really small moments in BvS.

I loved giving her the personality of a warrior who LIKES to fight, and scrap, and get into battles. She’s not angry or violent but if it’s against an opponent she likes the challenge of the battle. Reminds me of goku

Even that tiny detail (which is ALL in that smirk u posted) is something that makes Diana super endearing and likeable.

? Wonder Woman was awesome aside from the final battle

    WW84 was a dumpster fire

idk the whole time I just watched the first film thinking "ight" and then obv the final battle was garbage which kind of just put me off the rest of the film

When I think back at that film, there really wasn't a single memorable moment in it. I also never rly felt Gadot or Pine's chemistry for one moment tbh. And I do wish they made her naive in a more well intentioned way rather than just straight up delusional.

This is really true. In some iterations the mania makes sense (like Joker tricking him into killing Lois) I can see why but in others it’s like huh?

In jlu it is set up real good. No lois involved. Flash's death is what motivates him but then he is okay with killing the Flash in the other world and seems to be okay with it?? It's like they got lazy

I think it's because niggas are cynical now. Niggas have become Lex Luthor. Had someone at school tell me Homelander is a more realistic version of Superman.

Like nigga to who? For you? People are cynical and project that. It's easier to see the worst in people and in things for some folk. And it's not even just Superman. Some of the same people don't rock with Cap or any morally just character
    :kanyeshrug

Homelander is Superman for nihilists who surf 4chan in their spare time lmao the funniest part is the dude who created Homelander (Garth Ennis) actually wrote some good Superman stories before, he just created The Boys cuz he was salty that the American comics market don't care about much outside of Superheroes.

Read The Boys too, the comics are way more edgier and annoying than the show smh lol

  • Mar 15, 2021

And yeah it's the philosophical mumbo jumbo that makes superman interesting. Here's this dude that can do everything but should he? And what comes with the choices he has made from acting or choosing not to act?

Him out powering someone is just for the spectacle

Nah Homelander was specifically created on some "if Superman was real he'd be a sociopath" s***.

Homelander even drops nigga with the HARD R in the comic lol smh.

Garth's whole argument against Superheroes in the comic is that their figureheads / fake celebs and that the cops / military / etc. are the real heroes. You can tell cuz the only superheroes he doesn't parody are dudes like Nick Fury & the Punisher
