Yes they're learned behaviors... That are often times ingrained in people from an early age or through their upbringing and influence of family members... Just like indoctrination... We can't control people's thoughts or what their families are teaching them.

Many people are also naturally ashamed of their urges... As far as pedophiles... I'm sure there will be some that will come forward and seek help if there's no public demonization, but of course there will STILL be public demonization to some degree and even if there wasn't... There are those who'd also rather feed into that urge to molest children... My focus is on the violent crimes...

Until you can create a system where no one will ever be executed wrongfully... You can't advocate for the death penalty... There's also other valid arguments against the death penalty if someone's born with a severe mental illness that can be clinically diagnosed... It would be more humane to keep them separated from society so they can't put anyone else on danger, but not kill them.

The argument you are making can be used in any type of punishment. There's millions of people who are wrongfully convicted and spend the rest of their lives in prison so should we free everyone in prison? No.

Yes, that's why it's a process. I don't see why, as time moves on, we can't get rid of all of those ugly forms of bigotry. You kill off institutional racism, xenophobia, transphobia, religious bigotry etc., If a behavior is learned, it can be unlearned and eventually it can get to the point where it's never even taught. Especially if you take away the influential systemic factors.

I also don't accept that there has to be public demonization at all. Again we're talking about a radical transformation of society and its values. Right now we demonize these people because that's what is accepted in society. No one is going to get on you for shaming a pedophile, even if theyve committed no crime, but what if it wasn't socially acceptable to demonize them?

As for sociopaths, well I see no reason we can't eliminate a condition based on sociological factors. Psychopaths are different, but there is some environmental aspect at play with them as well.
