We are looking at a likely $1250-$1500 or even more next gen consoles. Are people even gonna buy these? Are devs gonna never move to next gen and prioritize ps5 and cross gen titles. What even is gonna be the point then if no one is developing for these things. Is the console space gonna die out or is the ps5 / series x gonna be extended for a long long long time and no “real” next gen exclusives for a while

enthusiasts will absolutely still buy them at that price but the "average" person who only plays a handful of games a year wont. the ps4 had an extended life due to covid and the install base being massive, i think the same will happen with xbox series and ps5. the price of entry is going to be way too high for the majority of console buyers and devs will have to maintain support and development for the previous gen just due to the economics of there not being enough of helix's or ps6's in the hands of the general consumer

4000 series used market probably best bet like you said. Or 9070xt from secondary market. But 5070’s on are now completely ridiculous
