I‘m not a big fan of this too but this edition include nothing really important and there‘s still a version for $80… so it‘s basically your fault if you purchase the ultimate edition when there‘s a cheaper version available

So I was asking which game only has a $100 edition

GTA V was such a boring snoozefest, bad combat, no creative freedom in missions (you’re on a leash so hard for a game that’s supposedly soooo free). Mid storylines, juvenille characters and writing.

The satire was fun back in GTA:SA but it’s nothing exciting anymore

The only thing that GTA has going for it is that it always pushes the limits of current hardware and graphics, but besides that it’s the most commercial, safe for normies type of game there is.

GTA is THE game for people that play 2 videogames max per year and then they say “omg bro this is GOTY” like no s*** if thats the only thing a mf played all year

Like just for the sake of discussion, what do you think GTA does that warrants it annoying praise besides graphics?

Rockstar has fanboys who aren't willing to accept any criticism for sure but GTA definitely brings way more to gaming than just pushing hardware and graphics. SA and IV aren't good looking games even for their time, this praise for Rockstar's graphics really only happened with V and RDR2

While waiting for VI the closest games worth your time that you could probably play right now are Cyberpunk, Watch Dogs or Mafia. And none of them come close to making an immersive world or giving you the freedom GTA does. Despite being absent for 13 years, nobody has been able to fill that gap. That warrants praise

Wasn‘t IV very praised because it looked so good for 2008?

honestly just cop a used one on ebay

but id keep it if i were you if you're into jailbreaking

    I do enjoy jail breaking

I'm sure there were people praising the graphics but also a lot of people saying the game looked muddy. Game was 640p on PS3 Doesn't look as detailed as something like MGS 4

It feels like with SA/IV people understood "Graphics are good not great but its an open world sandbox so this is probably the best they can do" but V/RDR2 is when they reached best graphics in the industry level and that's what people expect from VI now

I did feel like in regard to the games you named Cyberpunk and Watch Dogs 2 gave me more freedom in gameplay than GTA ever did.

And my graphics comment was speaking of recent Rockstar releases, not historically. I feel like especially GTA V was a low point in the series where you could really feel the stagnation of the formula.

  • It will sell. Limited quantities initially with scalpers but I do think the general population won't jump on it straight away. PC is expensive af too

    5090’s now cost $7k plus

I haven't played Watch Dogs 2 but Cyberpunk definitely doesn't give you the same freedom a Rockstar game does. I'm talking about whether the game allows the player to do whatever they can think of while playing, whether the game offers variety. Cyberpunk gives you more options in combat and missions (that's expected, it's a RPG) but you can't even save whatever cars you steal. You can't rob a store if you want to. There's no incentive to just walk around and do random s*** in the world because NPCs don't react to you the way they do in a GTA game. You're always going between gigs/side jobs/main plot. GTA you can have a great time doing whatever you want because the world reacts realistically to the player. No other developer has been able to nail this the way Rockstar has

The average gamer would agree with you about V. The reception to the single player has changed drastically since it dropped

Oh yeah def GTA offers more freedom when it comes to the sandbox stuff, and moreso than other similar open world crime simulators. I agree with that, because that is just true.

Unfortunately in contrast to that the campaigns and main missions get worse and worse for Rockstar games as time moves on and feel restricted, redundant and by the numbers.

Wreaking havoc and running around in an open world that is semi-realistic just gets old really quick for me. As long as the campaigns don’t evolve i will remain sceptical of forthcoming Rockstar games

  • it's definitely a wrapski

ppl are stupid and are already buying $100 video games this will be no different

you can't blame them when GTA 6 is giving us innovation like #hurricanes

they should've made the base game $150

Probably my biggest concern about VI too but I think Rockstar heard people saying most RDR2 main missions boiled down to ride horse here -> shoot out and they actively focused on addressing that. I think we'll see more varied missions in VI with multiple different ways to tackle them

  • Just Googled PS5 Pro in my country and that s*** costs 22 racks I've said it before, this is the last gen I'll be gaming. Already feel like I don't have enough time anyway, not about to spend over 25k on f***ing video games

With scalability, crossgen and a large install base on old gen, i think this storm can be weathered until the ai crash

what are you trying to play at about what settings. I would say 1000-1500. More towards 1500 . There are always open box microcenter deals and discounts. Kind of just wait til a tax return and invest type moments

i already have a pretty decent pc i bought around the holidays of 2023. microcenter had a good discount for a prebuild and it was open box so i scored a deal. not tryna build anything rn just wanna know what s*** be going for cause my knowledge def off

i also play everything on low settings anyway just a habit i picked off playing fps games in the early 2010s

1500 sounds about right. i think i paid 1300-1400 for mine? surprised its not more expensive now

Payment plans exist. Some stores offer store credit cards with 0% APR for the first 12-24 months. I remember Best Buy had a 24 month 0% APR credit card offer during Black Friday.

  • I’ll play old emulated games all day long giving no f***s
