Game production quality not touching a billion every game but I think we will see less games and more bigger projects. I sitll think 5 -8 years max sweet spot on development before you risk launching feeling dated . But yeah next gen people will expect a lot for 1000 dollar console. Possibly digital only .

Again I think free to play online is central. If you are a live service game let he microtransactions and them booting up your console to play it be the main service. If they get hooked on a live service game they are building your player base. Fortnite doesnt have a monthly subscription but it has insane numbers. From being the culture. From updating to what gamers want. From feeding both the casuals and pro level circuit.

Wonder if the casuals will be attracted to 60fps in GTA VI on PS6

Tbh they aren’t even locked down and people are realizing how powerful ps5 is , how useful it is not updating it and running Linux on it. Jailbreaking making it play ps1-5 both digitally and physical
