Remember when rappers would rap on indie songs on their mixtapes
even albums

never was
The main age cohort spearheading the 10s indie scene all kinda aged outta it now literally everyone is a DJ
2010s and late 2000s was indie rock at its best
wattba
I feel like underground Rock sorta died out after 2015,
2000s-2010s was a f***ing time to be alive for anything emo, indie, punk, metal etc.
Indie is actually indie now. Stop thinking that things are culturally relevant because their markers are gathered around individual captains of industry
Ur not getting “indie” albums topping charts
Go to house shows in college towns if u want some real indie s***
(Album kinda sucked tho)
Not at all
its indie pop now.
Caroline Polachek and Magdalena Bay
mag bay got some tunes wont lie
Cudi use to love to do this
He lowkey invented

but yeah if you wanna listen to guitar music that you haven't heard of before go to your local pub/bar on a friday night
In the same way as good rap music and heavy music, indie has went back underground
I don't want normies anywhere near it
i know numbers arent everything but you look at the charts and the new MGMT album flopped like crazy!! they gave us Electric Feel
That's the problem.
They stopped giving people "Electric Feel", and became weird and niche.
A lot of these indie acts drop one or two cool albums, stuff the general public could get into, then they either become mid, increasingly inaccessible, or both.
the only relevant white people music left is country (casual) and hyperpop (too online)
