You have ZERO reason to be mad at a person you don’t know Yes that’s my gripe with atheist. You guys hide behind your reason to be mad as some sort of reason for your aggression when the topic arises. How ever you feel about religion and religious folk( whether mad or happy) shouldn’t affect your temperament with me or ppl of that religion that you never met.

White people use this same logic with black folk.

I don’t care if your shop got robbed by 10 black people, that’s doesn’t give anyone the right to judge the 11th. Be mad just don’t treat me like I personally robbed you because I didn’t.

It doesn't affect my temperament, I'm not running around yelling at Muslims or Christians.

The reason for the anger is that there's literally zero verifiable evidence of a god but yet people continue to perpetuate this cycle that has resulted in a lot of people getting hurt. For no reason other than faith. Also it's literally nothing like being black because you can't choose if you're black. You're born an atheist and you make a conscious decision to be anything else.

You’re choosing to be ignorant of context here or don’t care about it

And you're choosing to be ignorant of context here.

It is an art history class and was not forced upon any one. It is not the instructor's original work, it is not the instructor pushing her views on anyone, it is a lesson on history. If you are offended by it, you were given the option to not take part. The lesson was on the syllabus from the start, they should have known and could have not taken the course. What more should others be forced to do to appease someone's "offense" and act like a victim.

You were religious right? How many people did you hurt?

How many people have you hurt now being non religious?

None I’m betting. You want to know why? Because you aren’t that type of person.

That what it boils down to. People don’t need religion to be evil even though many have done evil because of it.

You represent an institution and you choose depict and advertise material which is offensive and antagonistic to a major demographic of people — your colleagues, students, and others .. for what? Just cause. Even if there was no Muslims in that class it’s still grounds for being fired.

Go ahead tell others/minority group how they should feel lol

You want a multicultural society but also want to avoid accountability to d***head behavior

It’s a belittling to a demographic of people. It’s as simple as that. They had a responsibility to be respectful and sensitive as a educator of a higher education institution which is multicultural hub.

primal aversion as in the dislike for feces, semen, urine etc. they attempt to desensitize you to it through consumption so you no longer differentiate from the pure and the impure, which gets you closer to a non-dual state of mind (which is considered enlightenment)

    en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vajrayana

”Some Vajrayāna rituals traditionally included the use of certain taboo substances, such as blood, semen, alcohol and urine, as ritual offerings and sacraments, though some of these are often replaced with less taboo substances such as yogurt. Tantric feasts and initiations sometimes employed substances like human flesh as noted by Kahha's Yogaratnamala.56

”The use of these substances is related to the non-dual (advaya) nature of a Buddha's wisdom (buddhajñana). Since the ultimate state is in some sense non-dual, a practitioner can approach that state by "transcending attachment to dual categories such as pure and impure, permitted and forbidden". As the Guhyasamaja Tantra states "the wise man who does not discriminate achieves Buddhahood".”

the Aghori within Hinduism do something similar to this as well

That what it boils down to. People don’t need religion to be evil even though many have done evil because of it.

I went door to door attempting to get people into my religion and was successful a few times. I held on to reprehensible opinions about homosexuality, abortion etc and I spread those views. What made me leave was i realized those views weren't my own and that I'm not going to have a kid and subject him or her to those same missteps because of "faith".

My parents divorced partly because of the strain the religion put on them as people. My mom and grandmother were in tears every other day because of my decision. One of the last conversations I had with my grandfather was him pleading with me to return to the religion so that I could go to paradise. He had to die thinking his grandson wasn't going to make it. There's so many ways people can hurt.
