Because we dont live in a utopia, socialism f***s up everywhere it is tried.

Capitalism is good but flawed so we should mitigate the bad and keep the good

to be fair its never been given a fair chance to work.

but saying "its never worked" shouldnt be the basis of ur argument against it.

Well capitalism has worked then, global extreme poverty has plummeted, this is what matters most because relative poverty is still bad, but extreme poverty is far, far more likely to result in death and discomfort

“But but but its not truee capitalism!!!”

Those aren’t consequences of capitalism dipshit they’re consequences of corporate handouts + government over-regulation mixed with corruption/special-interests which is the opposite of capitalism

magic hypothetical capitalism for me and the socialism of CIA coups and embargoes for you.

also this doesnt even make sense because all of the glaring flaws in the current system are inherent to capitalism.

Um... unless you’re of the thought that any sort of socialist implementation to a capitalist economy makes it no longer a capitalist system (for example social democracy) then socialism is about the only somewhat realistic alternative to capitalism.

Thread title is “how do you feel about capitalism” if your answer is “not good” then what do you think I can expect a person to think a good alternative is? Feudalism?

well for starters there is a distinction between socialism playing out wrong because of external factors like military intervention

and capitalism playing out "wrong" due to inherent flaws

so its kind of a strange comparison.
