Yeat is good. And dudes like Lone and Ken have potential. Neither are even 24 yet

They’re cool but I wouldn’t say they make groundbreaking music that will stand the test of time. It’s kind of like how Nu Metal was in a way

He’s more deep into the scene than any normal well adjusted person and projecting it on to Ye and Em

Lmaoo at these type of videos making it to your algorithm let alone you clicking and watching them. Real niggas ain’t seeing none of this behind Vlad TV interview reccomendations

@op you consuming something weird that’s making your algorithm different than the default one YouTube gives all niggas when you engage with rap content lol

Word, it’s giving white guilt (i’m not sure if he’s white but if this is on his algorithm or talked about in his circle then he has to be)

PinkPantheress is more relevant in hip hop culture than Tom Macdonald and she’s not even a rapper or American

Well you are certainly entitled to your dumb opinion, that’s for sure!

Donda 2 is a blemish on the culture and Eminem voluntarily booted himself out of the top 5 convo by any serious fans of rap music due to decades of terrible material

    We good on that

Donda 2 didn't even have an official release f*** is you talmbout ?

I think all three make good music but I’m not gonna detail the thread to argue about it

Op sounds like a Jehovah Witness

  • OP inadvertently proved that numbers don’t mean s*** when discussing impact and popularity sometimes.

Cuz even with all them numbers and s*** if you asked a random in the street to rap a verse from that nigga they gonna look at you like you’re an unidentified flying object

instead of trying to retire greats we should be pushing Yeat and them Opium clones out of music before things get worse

I can't think of any artists in hip hop whose presence within the genre is genuinely hurting hip hop at a major level besides these two guys tbh. Both at their absolute lowest creatively and have been exposed as charlatans in varying capacities.

If Eminem retired a serious resurgence in lyrical hip hop could happen in the mainstream given that the corny "real hip hop" guys like Logic, Joyner, etc, would no longer be validated in the culture by an active hip hop artist and would either need to actually make good music or, more realistically, retire. A lot of white people would also lose interest in hip hop, and these were the types that pretty much only listen to Eminem to begin with, so getting them out of the culture would be nice.

If Kanye retired the right-wing co-opting of hip hop wouldn't be validated anymore either and these relatively successful far-right trolls would start to fade into obscurity as the alt-right abandons the fringes of rap and goes on to exploiting a different culture.

With neither making worthwhile art anymore, the game would be a lot better if these washed up old men would do us all a favor and never record a rap verse or create a song again.

    Shut up

    Production
    Vocal delivery
    Flows and melodies
Still manage to have quotables and memorable lines despite not being lyrical rappers.

I understand why people might not like it but fw them heavy. Especially Yeat

If we're keeping it 100, redundant trap beats and bloated albums with no artistic vision hurt today's hip hop way more than Ye and Em ever did.

It's just that rap fans love to dunk on the OG's to seem "cool" and "in tune with the culture."

Hip Hop is the GOAT genre when it comes to discrediting its own musical pioneers.

There's gonna be a Jay-Z and Tupac hate thread next week. Just watch.

The convo no one wants to have because they don’t wanna be called old lol

these Niggas are gonna be like lil pump lil skies smokepurp in 2-3 years like lil Uzi vert is slowly turning into before our eyes lol as soon as the next “thing” makes them look outdated and they have no foundational rap talent, just as Ken lonely and Yeat types did to the lil pump smokepurp types

    uzi is undeniably talented

they wouldn’t ever admit that s*** about them opium niggas though tbh since they’re affiliated with Carti

we even had dudes batting for Desiigner once upon a time because Kanye tried to put him on or whatever, it’s just mindless d***riding

It’s aggrevating to see people try and diagnose it as anything else

Made a thread about Earl saying f*** his style to make generic BNYX songs and niggas I know are older than 23-25 telling me I’m tripping. We’re cooked because everyone just turning into cosplay of each other. Ye is kinda falling into that too but man at least he’ll give you beat switches and maximalist features and he’s certainly not an influence for people doing that. He just old his damn self trying to fit in like people who don’t wanna straight call the after effect of that rage opium or even street etc type music what it is
