Music videos are an integral part of music, historically, so while I get your point totally, I think you’re conflating it with the sexualising aspect IMO
music videos are important but do you seriously think those videos were big for any other reason apart from seeing these "artists" half naked and shaking their ass?
Also one can argue God's Plan and Hotline Bling were bigger videos or just as big as pretty much any of these videos but they were big for either productive reasons or artistically interesting reasons.
