If he sold more with less songs on an album that people "were aware" off and sold 20k less on an album with more songs that people supposedly weren't aware off where would these other people that didn't hear it come from.

We need mainstream acts that don’t follow the crowd. It’s the difference between mid like CLB/Live Life Fast and greatness like TPAB, 4:44, The Off Season, CTRL, And Dawn FM.
I f*** with those artists individually, but seeing them on the tracklist of every album makes me sick. You already know what it’s gonna sound like. Rarely does it ever make a good album.

ok i did some quick research like 2 minutes in wiki articles. circles spent 39 weeks in the top 10 which was the record until blinding lights spent 40. then levitating spent 41 weeks in the top 10 breaking that record.
don't start now spent a year on the chart. say so has so much stats that i can't even be bothered to use the effort to find the weeks on the chart.

That doesn’t explain the overwhelming success of BL and also The Box. Sure those songs will chart, after all the charts don’t go away because a pandemic started. Those spots have to be filled. My point is those songs did not have a fair chance to compete with BL. Artist basically just had to send a social media post for promo and that’s it. Weeknd had his full promo going for AH leading up to February when the pandemic started. Other artist that year did not have the benefit to gain traction in album promo or tour promotion. A lot of heavy hitters decided not to drop because of that.
To use Drake as an example, that’s why he decided to drop an album full of loosies instead of a full album release like CLB.

Lol you have to compare to their previous sales. Beyonce has never sold that well. Think she has more #2 albums than 1s. Dot maybe but at the same time you can't compare the sales climate of then to now
They literally dragged Adele for doing the big number that she did because she didn’t do 2011 and 2015 numbers on here tho.

Nah he really hasn’t
He can take risks for a song or two but he tries to serve 10 different groups on each album and it results in a discography post 2015 where people add the 3-4 songs targeted to them on his album and delete the rest
He needs to commit to a full project
I also wouldn’t mind if Drake focused on an album in a different way
But I fail to see how serving all those different audiences with one project isn’t a risk in itself. Who else can do that and still have people say that the album is too safe?
