If they have no gameplay updates I dont think you will enjoy them. SA is still very enjoyable nowadays, VC is rough here and there and III is borderinr playable sometimes unless ur a time traveller from 2001

The real remake that needs to happen is put all the GTA 2D games in a collection and give them great top down graphics GTA 2 actually has a great world and setting

GTA VC is less good but most beloved for its Miami Vice aesthetic

GTA III has a very mysterious vibe to it and the main character never talks

As someone who had a speedrun record in GTA SA and appreciates the 3D era games a lot, I am afraid they will leave 3 and VC wonky.

For example 3 needs more aerial vehicles any VC needs swimming abilities.

VC has a great radio, great vibes, story is basically Scarface meets Miami Vice, missions are fine, world is tiny, freeroam is a bit boring

GTA III had a lot of content cut bc of 9/11 (it plays in NYC), like more airplanes, the Darkel missions where you have to blow up a schoolbus and so on

GTA VC had a lot of content cut for time constraints, like the Key West area

Feel like SA was the first one where they could really let their nuts hang

Mafia was a remake not a remaster man keep your expectations in check you're not gonna get anything close to this level cheers

III and VC only aged well to people who grew up playing them tbh. III popped my cherry when I was in 4th grade in 01-02 to a lot of different things so I hold it in high regards as the “game changer” because there was nothing on its level until Vice City came out which was better in different aspects.

San Andreas is on an entirely different level from the former 2. I’ll go as far as saying San Andreas is better than IV off the strength of content and freedom alone. IV felt like a step back from San Andreas

So I’d say gauge it like this. Excluding GTA V, San Andreas is the next peak of the series. If you think it or GTA IV aged bad you probably won’t like 3 or VC, many limitations in those games especially III. A lot of bugs, frustration, etc. but if you grew up playing those it’s part of the experience and it’s almost welcoming. I can’t see anyone who didn’t play GTA III and Vice city enjoying it now gameplay wise but I could be wrong
