This like when ppl try to defend MARTHAAA! in BVs
It's so f***ing bad I couldn't believe it
No? Trades are essentially seasons
Not really there's a lot of trades that don't contain a whole story arc and stops right in the middle of it and not in a cliff hanger way but thats all the could fit in way
This excuse doesn’t work when there’s another live-action DCU show with 10x more sci-Fi elements. It’s not about quota, it’s about what you’re adapting
The other dcu show lead by black people filmed in California ? What is it
Do you think comparing it to everything is relevant when having a black lead , writers plays a factor
You think they just print money . The 5th episode being action heavy was a gift. Moving that spectacle to episode 8 or constructs in every episode wouldn’t solve the problems the show has for many of us
You have still given 0 examples of how constructs should have been used in final 3 episodes that in no way needed them
All of these words just to be wrong. I liked the season overall. Just thought the last two episodes were weak, and that there was a lack of Green Lantern elements after the fifth episode
If you spend more time talking about “ green lantern “ elements because you are too afraid to say constructs or spectacle who cares . People were talking about the actual finale and season and you came in posting a tweet about feeling drama fans think they are better than action fans in the thread of a DRAMA tv show
Crazy that film discourse online has become so snobby and up-its-own-ass that you get people giving diatribes about budgetary constraints when you ask why there’s a lack of superhero content in a superhero show’s climax
This is a tv show not film
how you can say budget is not a concern on a black lead show where the main character that is white dies in Trumps america when they openly made clear budget was a concern. Got tax credit to film in California. Is beyond me. But whatever. "theres a lack of superhero content"
there is plenty of superhero content in the final 3 episodes. Just say constructs. you have changed the goal post from lanterning, to superhero content, to constructs to being confronted with constructs being spectacle.
You shift because you can confront that you wanted more SPECTACLE. Which is perfectly fine but SPECTACLE cost money and they blew their load in the 5th episode of the season.Could they have spaced that action out? yes. Would it solve the NARRATIVE AND DRAMA problems that exist in the show? No. If you are bored by the DRAMA parts of a DRAMA show. Perhaps the show isnt for you. Yes it has superheros in it yes its based on lanterns. But it always sold itself as a drama. True Detective not every episode was action packed. Not every episode had spectacle either.
Just because its superhero , comic book content I dont believe it needs to reach an episode per episode quota of looking cool. Because again there is plenty of superhero content in the final 3 episodes.

Snobby

Brother will never acknowledge reality. Even when I gave a direct comparison to Watchmen HBO a tv show that balanced both drama and visuals that he never watched with one of the writers present here
then he wonders why things change
how can you say "I want them to do more like things of a show I never watched"
we get it you like spectacle pack it up. You may get more spectacle in the SECOND SEASON or in an upcoming MOVIE.
No one cares
Really like that DCU will have John do crazy s*** in man of tomorrow and then we can also have a show like this exist. It’s the first lanterns dedicated live action thing in an over a decade lol they’ll give him more constructs in other s***.That’s on you if you created your own false expectations. Unfair way to judge a show or movie imo.

The final 3 episodes now didnt have superhero content content now he changed goals
when the clear action and set piece climax was episode 5 clearly and they made that clear
most rational people are critiquing how it wraps up the other elements of the show in the final 3 hours not a demand for more of that action. When many after how much action was in episode 5 said 'wow i thought that was the finale'
and if you cant see those issues and discuss those issues I dont think this show was ever for you
DOOMSDAY coming soon brother dont come in the thread at the end of a tv show people been discussing week by week just to b**** about spectacle you look foolish
Cope and seethe

the second last episode was one of the most emotionally heavy episodes of the whole season, one of my faves tbh
the scene with Stewart hallucinating and the Halogram opening up to him
my main issue with the finale is how Kerry reacted and did what she did. Felt it had undertones of misogny/bad female writing
but the scene he had with Noah was another great juxtaposition of nature vs nurture. Stewart fighting against his programming of how he was raised to Noah’s actual DNA. It completely makes sense to why there wasnt an actual fight or grandiose battle at the end

However you need to cope bud

THANK YOU it would take away from the emotional moments and scenes where if anything we needed one with his family but they kind of just skipped to resolution

this is a bad false equivalence lol

very true, we never even saw his other brother properly. Hope that gets proper looked at S2, cos the dynamic is an interesting one that needs further exploration
It's so f***ing bad I couldn't believe it
Why did he sit down on the bench sitting up str8 after getting blasted in the head tho

Serving some fans that much action in episode 5 just made them want more even though it made abundantly clear that’s it
