    @GoAheadMrJoestar

Yeah I think this is how its going to go. The fact that sinestro hasn't become a yellow lantern yet. Adding on that John lantern is made from that planet, he's probably gonna struggle with being a GL/YL.

Now sure they can go grounded for this approach tho

Nah for a show that was in development hell I give it a lot of credit

I do think when you introduce black trauma as a plot line then you resolve everything involving it off screen and skip to when they forgive everyone its a bit jarring though.

Its like it was rushing to resolve plot lines.

This take is silly. Comic books come in all different takes, tones, style, etc. Why shouldn't the same be true for their adaptations ?

It's not inherently bad to have cgi in a comic book adaptation but the problem is when people EXPECT that out of an adaptation just because its a comic book adaptation. That's very limiting

NRS should be banned from making fighting games. The gameplay looks goofy as f*** but they have the nerve to show a perfectly fine choreograph fight sequence in a cutscene. They should be legally required to show gameplay and not cutscene when they promote their games.

  • mega mid but still the best DCU project so far

You not gonna find a Green Lantern comic book where the last three issues feature no Green Lanterning occurring

This show may have started a race war and writing wise there are some choices where they set themselves up. Writing decisions that make no sense put together. I am going to enjoy the show for what it is but damn

Brother showing a video game while saying this for no given reason to keep people that cant listen to a voice or see him without visual stimulation. He doesn't even explain why he is showing that.

    "films to be taken seriously"

this is a tv show. It doesnt take away from artistic value. It is EXPENSIVE. It cost MONEY. This is a TV SHOW. The Budget from filming in CALIFORNIA even with tax credits was still 130 million.

Of course you think a man jerking off MCU

you have spent your time in this thread taking shots at this because its DC not even discussing the odd story decisions. You are focused solely on cgi and spectacle.

There were plenty of superhero stuff. The CGI and budget is a real issue in a tv show. Do I hope they do other lanterns and kilowog eventually yes but I get why it has to stay grounded with limited space time.

Why on earth would you think they could afford heavy cgi on a show that will already be on the chopping block for possible cancellation because Ellison doesnt like the message or views it as woke?

What money do you think Warner Brothers or Paramount has to throw at the franchise to make it use vfx to the fan demands

THIS OPERATES ON MONEY NOT FAN SERVICE

Even ratings are dope but if its not moving merch and physical copies of the art its only going to make them so much money it subsidizes all the other shows on a STREAMING service. With those shows that get the most streams getting the highest budget

which will be game of thrones spin offs and harry potter. Especially after some of these story decisions where people will check out

same way last of us season 1 great ratings season 2 took a dip can you take an educated guess that the budget for season 3 will not go crazy high?

Do we need to sit fans down every time this occurs to explain Santa Claus isnt real?

ARE YOU MENTALLY INEPT A COMIC COST OF PRODUCTION VS A CARTOON VS A GAME VS A MOVIE ARE ALL DIFFERENT

you limit green lanterning to a specific special effect you want to see used to reach quota. THAT IS BY DEFINITION SPECTACLE.

There is nothing pretentious in "special fx cost a lot of money and adds up I would rather have them invest that in writing, actors, sets and other elements that immerse me in the story"

we have seen green lantern with heavy special fx and a dogshit story . its part of why we havent seen green lantern for 2 decades. Studios seeing there isnt money in that we will take a loss.

This applies to why we havent seen many anime adapted and games.

Same reason Gundam is starring sydney sweeney to use star power to draw people in.

tweets like this are nothing but childish

This excuse doesn’t work when there’s another live-action DCU show with 10x more sci-Fi elements. It’s not about quota, it’s about what you’re adapting

All of these words just to be wrong. I liked the season overall. Just thought the last two episodes were weak, and that there was a lack of Green Lantern elements after the fifth episode

Crazy that film discourse online has become so snobby and up-its-own-ass that you get people giving diatribes about budgetary constraints when you ask why there’s a lack of superhero content in a superhero show’s climax
