Imagine states not supporting that Texas governor like I know cheap labor is one thing but the whole as long as it’s not happening in our state mentality. Uh huh

Yeah I don’t get it anymore 🤦‍♂️ undocumented or not, countries aren’t built to be taking in that many new people every year.

Any of you heard this folk record from 68. If I was doing the female artists list then this would definitely make it.

I don't mind at all lol it's fascinating to see what each person chooses to believe about history. Also, there's so much history that you can never expect to have an balanced perspective unless you get into it with people that have different outlooks.

They do be getting triggered though lol I don't care about their little insults.

I actually was looking for that post so broski. I read the other one you liked about that bank robbery too, good s***.
    And yea short fiction is

I'm reading Norwood by Charles Portis right now, its kinda stupid but entertaining I guess. Reminds of something The Coen Bros would have made early in their career. Main character is like the guy from Raising Arizona.

But did you read any Denis Johnson ? I got his debut Angels lined up next which should be more my style. I digged his final short story novel The Largesse of the Sea Maiden a couple years ago

I haven't read Denis Johnson, but I heard he's influenced by T.S. Eliot and Saul Bellow, so I should check some of his short stories out or maybe his poetry. I read a part of an interview where he talks about the poetic influence of music on his writing, which sounds kinda interesting. (Maybe?) I read some of the Sea Maiden short because they had a preview of it in the New Yorker.

Yeah, didn't a book by Charles Portis get adapted into a Coen brothers' film? Haven't read anything by him at all tbh.

Just got my mom to read the Joyce Carol Oates short story, definitely a short that gets under your skin so not sure she enjoyed it, but I think she appreciated the prose/imagery. There's something about the villain in that short that's really fkn terrifying, which is why
I made the Judge Holden comparison.

It’s an excellent album. To me it sounds more like if Nico veered into Vashti Bunyan territory. You got to check out at least the title track.

I also don’t tag anyone in particular at first because I’m asking the thread generally. If nobody bites then I’ll ask someone specific who I think might have missed it and would like it.

@drjdeponytail @Koala these NBA offense outbursts are getting out of hand. I know it's harder to defend nowadays and the league is ruled in favor of the offense but these dudes are so ridiculously talented nowadays.

First Embiid and KAT the same day and now Book and Luka

The Joyce story was great too very unsettling, I can see that otherworldly 'Judge' feel to it. I actually pictured the guy to look like Richard Ramirez.

I think you'll like Denis Johnson and yea Portis wrote True Grit which the Coens made a remake of.

It's gotta happen in the next few years. Luka shot it 33 times to Kobe's 46 and I'm sure a situation like that will happen again for a top scorer

  • But yeah 81 in the mid noughties is an absurd accomplishment
