I guess Harvest and Comes a Time are kinda off kilter soft rock classics in their own way. I just forget to classify him that way when he's got Everybody Knows and Ragged Glory under his belt as well. He's so different.

After the Gold Rush beat the brakes off 99.99999% of the great folk rock albums coming out at the time.

Yeah After The Goldrush taps into something that hadn't been tapped into since Another Side Of Bob

My favorite song will be in my top 3 of 1970

I’m too much of a melody w****. If you can grab me with a really strong one that’s sung earnestly and the composition backs it up—then I’m totally in.

    Example: Melancholy Man

Yeah but that transcends just what I’m talking about. That’s like some In The Court of The Crimson King level epic.

Speaking of early 70’s singer songwriter stuff and strong melodies. This is an all time favorite.

@Noir Have you heard this yet? Perfect album for the autumn season.

It captures this really specific sound and time. It feels like you’re riding on a horse carriage and there’s someone sleeping on the stack of hay in the back while the leaves are falling.

Ray was the master of concision he knew what he was doing leaving you hanging so the song never gets old. A true gem.
