Does it not matter that I put Wyatt's Rock Bottom in the most rarified air lol? I like the scene decently, been meaning to move on with Carava
And yeah that's super cheating
yeah thats the thing i was thinking of already knowing that you liked. i might be off base here but i still kinda feel like Rock Bottom and subsequent Wyatt moreso is different from the rest of canterbury, still the scene ofc but very unique and has a bit less in common with the core canterbury sound. like he was already starting to go off gradually into his own completely unique direction
2007's Comicopera is settling in very nicely from him

where you at with Caravan?
Ray Charles is also starting to really sink in
evven after strongly disliking Modern Sounds in Country and Western Music

Told you
cant find a date but it seems like it was released at the same time
66 wins off Becks Bolero alone
Told you
very impressive range of styles
Debut for 3 years
first 5 albums all great especially In the Land of Grey and Pink which is a full fledged masterpiece for me
also feel like the debut is underrated as a bonafide psych album, never see it mentioned alongside psych but i think it fits in with 1968 in the same vein that early soft machine does
very impressive range of styles
I been saying he was to the 50s and early 60s what Beatles, Bowie, Kanye etc were to their respective decades. Massive style shifts in between phases that were potent enough to shift the culture.

do you have a top highlights playlist to hit me with?
would be crazy if Ray ended up being the blind goat rather than the more popular choice Stevie

I guess you haven't really been paying attention to my list for each year
but Ray has been killing it. He has two songs in my top 5 for 1959 (including #1)
Yeah I'll hit you later
