See you when Juve vs Barca

Barca couldn't knock out PSG and lost to Athletic Bilbao in the copa de espana.

Juventus were/are on their way of missing out on the CL spots this year so good thing they dipped.

it basically removes the competitive aspect. you don’t have to be good to qualify for the champions league anymore (basically the football equivalent of the nba playoffs) you just have to be a name brand

United players died for this tournament yet the Glazers want to sack it off because they want even more cash under a sporting principle that goes against everything the game has ever stood for??

On what ground is this defensible?

Please stop romanticising the Munich Air Disaster. It's like saying Emiliano Sala died for Cardiff City, it's cheap messaging, and it's not like the sanctimony of the European Cup hasn't already been breached.

For one it ensures a lot of the much needed money is moved around a small group of clubs, and devalues the most prestigious competition in club football.

    Aight

You are definitely a paid shill lmao no one cares about fifa, uefa or morals.

I don't wanna watch barca-bayern play glorified friendles every week that s*** is dead. You can't see why removing stakes from the game, devaluing big games and removing all chance of underdog success stories would make the football product considerably worse?

Why would it be glorified friendlies lol
Teams would still compete to be the best in the league

So basically only the biggest, most valuable clubs automatically qualify for this league regardless of how they played?

yes, and as i’ve said earlier itt, some are struggling to qualify the competitive way, so they don’t deserve to be in here from a sporting pov. it’s all about the money here

but clearly the end result of this would be completely disregarding the domestic leagues. it's a 23-year contract. why would the owners care about the domestic leagues when there's no incentive to perform well in it? meanwhile they have their brain child to worry about.

they want european football to be like the the NFL. They want one competition with the big name teams and nothing more than that.

They're creating a closed European league.

The founders cannot be relegated/kicked out for a minimum of 23 years. Meaning it kills the meritocracy aspect of the highest level of club football. (People will say how is it different from Chelsea, Man City, Leipzig or PSG buying their success. Well the difference is that those clubs despite outspending their opponents still had to win games to get to where they're at and still had the threat of relegation or missing out on European football. The Super League cancels out that aspect of needing good management to get to that level)

They'll be making more ,no matter their position in the Super League, than winning the Champions League. Thus increasing the gap between the big clubs and the other clubs around Europe.

The Super League's success also represents a menace to domestic football. If it finds success, what's stopping them from f***ing off from the Premier League/LaLiga/SerieA to make their own league. Essentially killing the entire football pyramid.

Hypothetically if there’s 15 teams or whatever who are able to concentrate the best players within the league and play weekly against each other there’s 0 chance people boycott watching it
