Stating his skin color as a factor in why he sells is speaking the truth. To do otherwise is doing a disservice to all of the black musicians out there.
50 and Wayne must be white too then. And Drake also.
And all the other white rappers flopped hard compared to Em.

Not sure how you got that statement out of my comment. I'm talking about ppl who flat out just think he sucks, regardless of skin color or race. Theres plenty of other white rappers out there, and they all came nowhere near as close as the level of success Eminem had
Let's do the math: If I was black, I would've sold half
I ain't have to graduate from Lincoln High School to know that! - Eminem
Was listening to the Eminem Show the other day and man… if Em was somehow able to stay at this style his whole career…
Actually re listening it to now and it’s better than I remember

Great album except for Drips

everyone's spoken to white people who hate hip hop but only like Em. There is a big part of his fanbase who feel like that.
They don't like him because he's white. They like him because he is really talented. But if he wasn't white they wouldn't be able to see that talent, because they can't see the talent of black rappers. I've met so many Em fans like that
Proves white people have no taste
Every Eminem reaction video with like a million views is two black dudes from Atlanta.

This is absolutely true lmfao. Can't tell you how many I saw when I was looking up reacts to his new songs

Kanye and Tupac have tons of fans like that too though.
Maybe not as much as Em but that's sort of a "chicken and egg" sort of thing. Are they like that because Eminem is massively popular or because of his Whiteness making him more marketable? Or both?

Kanye has annoying snobby fans who think all other rappers are inferior to him. But not that they're talentless.
Like those "Wayne would be working at McDonalds if Pac was alive" memes are annoying. But even if those Pac fans feel that way about Wayne, I'm sure they don't think Biggie, Snoop, NWA, Jay etc. are all talentless too.
The Em fans I'm talking about actively despite hip hop culture in all regions, styles and eras, but make an exception (which comes off as racial) for Em.
It's whiteness making him more acceptable to a wider audience. Those fans don't give black rappers a fair hearing. If you showed them G-Eazy or Macklemore they'd probably think they were mediocre/shit. They don't only like Em because he's white, but they wouldn't give black artists the time of day
You can't achieve this succes without folks from every race and ethnicity f***in with your music heavily. This forum will forever be delusional

Ahh...I see your point.
But I think those comments are more common among non-rap fans who don't even know Eminem all that well outside of his hit songs than hardcore fans.
I used to post on RapBasement.com as a kid which used to be KTT for Eminem stans and there was a ton of appreciation for old school and underground rap there. Hell, they probably showed more love to 90's hip hop than KTT1 in the mid-2010's when hypebeasts were posting like crazy.
I also see some stans shouting out other rappers on Twitter and what have you. Hell, damn near half of Dr. Dre's fanbase today is Eminem stans keeping it 100.
I know the type of people you're referring too but I find that those comments were more common among non-rap fans or foreigners with limited exposure to hip hop besides Eminem than hardcore Eminem fans.
Of course, there's Eminem stans that can be bad in that regard but I'm just showing another perspective.

yeah but the logic of that Em bar about selling half isn't that noone would f*** with Em if he wasn't white. It's that he might have 3 albums go 5x Plat rather than diamond. He'd still be one of the best selling rappers OAT lol. With fans of all backgrounds

totally, but I'm not really talking about the type of stans who'd be on a rap forum. I'm more talking about the casual pop fans you need to be a superstar
It’s always the young ones that try to negate Eminem’s impact in hip-hop
Of course, how can I expect you to respect this man when your first exposure was trash albums like MMLP2 and onwards
But rest assured, dude is a f***ing legend
Maybe his music doesn’t resonate well with this age of hip-hop but it will get its flowers

Oh okay. I agree then.
Kinda random but MMLP2 isn’t platinum?
These are just updated certificates, not his only certificates.
