Same goes for just regular hip hop/rap. What we consider rap today wouldn't be considered rap in the 90s or 2000s

Na that’s just old heads being better because new styles of rapping where being created as the genre progressed

    Also I’m genuinely curious

Name a song that’s well-known by most people as Trap but lacks 808s or those hi hats

But u can't say the same for trap lol. Trap has definitely progressed pass the point where subject matter was the focal point of the sub genre

    They 2 diffrent things.

The first guy point is old heads being mad that a new style/sub genre is being created that isn’t how they traditionally rap. Any smart person understands that a new style was being formed by the younger generation. It’s a cycle that’s been going on since the beginning of hip hop

What you and these other C***following bozos are doing is trying to recreate a definition of a genre because you have no other name to call it. You only call it trap because there is no other nerd who has gave it a label yet and you hear “trap drums”

    Ur contradicting urself.

If u gonna recognize a new style being made as something that has always happened with every genre. Then why are u excluding trap from the same treatment.

And I already said it's more than just having "trap drums", subject matter also plays a role. Just not as big as it did back in the day. Even with that said, production has always been a big part of what made trap, trap

A new style that hasn’t been made or heard of being created is not the same as a dumbass nigga like you and the rest of these blogs and critics switching the entire definition of trap music

Who cares tbh. The shift of “trap” from subject matter to sound happened so long ago you just sound dusty if you still care bout it imo

    yea lol

ppl use trap to describe a certain sound now

if that upsets you, grow up. cry abt it.
