Like why as a 37 year old make that the theme of your album. I get that. With Her Loss and this album it seemed like he wanted to talk his s***. But I can see how someone thinks that immature.

His vulnerability back then was probably deep to us since we were super young. If you listen to that stuff now, a lot of his vulnerability about women is basically the same now.

Shot for me for example is a whole I made you, you aren't anything without me. You aren't gonna be anything without me. Basically what he says on FATD. FATD and his newer stuff like Her Loss basically has the same viewpoints he had on TC, etc just in a more angry, bitter tone.

So you are telling me 10+ years he hasn't really changed his viewpoints on women?

And I do think, everyone clowning him for being vulnerable/soft made him shy away from that and made him into the person he is today. I also think the Pusha beef really did a number on him too.

I put less emphasis on Her Loss because it's with 21 Savage, has a mixtape feel, etc. Going in, you knew what to expect. It was going to be flexing, I don't care bars, etc.

Keep in mind I enjoy listening to Her Loss and FATD (More so Her Loss). But that doesn't mean me as a listener can't look at these songs and go man I wish this dude grew up sooner than later and provided something different. Only so long he can collab with people like Cash Cobain, Yeat, Sexxy Redd, get dressed by Yachty etc, before he's looked at as a dude stuck in the past.

i dont mind the cash cobain, sexxy redd, yachty s*** etc really because i still feel like hes sort of helping bring up other people he likes or just being able to work with people he genuinely enjoys himself, like thats the vibes i get from those types

agree with the rest tho, exactly like "i wish this guy i used to relate to on wanting to get famous, give back to my family, date hot chicks, would grow up like i did and tell me about how hes handling trauma, what being a father is like, wanting to settle down, how hes migrating from rap/drugs/whatever into businesses"

like i mean thats basically what Jay Z finally did on 4:44 iirc, would be nice for drake to do it sooner, for me i wish he would

Never said they are role models. But since you are a man in your 30s, you are telling me you listen to some of the stuff he says, especially about women and don't find his viewpoints comically childish?

He literally thinks buying them things, is enough for their love and affection. And if they dare go against him, they are at fault. It's a bit objectifying and a very young boy mentality.

And the go to response to this is all rappers are the same way. And I'm not disagreeing, but the topic is Drake. His peers are also Cole and Kendrick, who seemed to have matured through the years VS. him.

I always got the vibe, he's trying to stay relevant by jumping on those people's tracks. And my argument to prove my point is, that Yeat song is CLEARLY a Yeat song, that Drake added a lazy verse to.

That Cash Cobain song unfortunately was totally copied. He literally almost word for word took that reference track.

That Bad Bunny song was a Bad Bunny song that Drake added a few lazy lines to.

If he truly was into their music (which he may be) you'd think he would add to the songs, rather than just basically be a bystander to their sound.

Drake has never disowned or ran from any reference track for him or by him.
The album has 23 tracks
The Re-Release had 6 new tracks
Plus the single that didn't make the album
Plus the 5 or so features that year.
Like damn.
