40 mixes songs as soon as Drake is done recording so that doesn't mean the album is anywhere close to being finished. 40 isn't who masters the songs. That's Chris Athens and that process takes at least 2 weeks to do (it all depends on how many songs are on the album) especially if Chris Athens isn't being sent songs to master as soon as they're done being mixed and they're waiting to be done with the entire album before sending the whole thing to him to master.

But mixing an album is still âworking on an albumâ also, we canât ignore all the summer teases. I get not trusting him but I donât understand how that video is bad at all

I mean, he gave us a time frame. The producers handling the final duties have been giving updates. I personally feel so appreciative of how Drake and his team stay in contact with the fans. Some artists would make that announcement post and you wouldn't hear about it again at all.
Obviously, the way we've been fed throughout the course of his career has made me more patient and tolerant of the "teasing" so that contributes to my mindset I guess.
He should have handled this album the way he handled Her Loss and Honestly, Nevermind: not say s*** until it was done and ready to be delivered. That's my point.
Why jump the gun to tease an album you know is far from ready like it'll be dropped ASAP when you know that isn't the case and you don't need to do that at all? Just seems wack to me.
Plus all the album updates on tour are unnecessary. All fans need is the release date. Saying how it's being mixed by 40 or who is on the album, etc is whatever. Just give people the music.
