DreamerI believe weâre misinterpreting his marketing strategy. More than likely the only reason he attached an album announcement to his book release was to gain more attention to the fact that he made a book not the other way around. Regardless of how it was orchestrated I think that makes more sense especially given the fact that most of the promo heâs doing now is exclusively during his shows
Whatever it is, it's lazy. No one wants to keep hearing updates about an album they can't listen to yet. I'd prefer it if he never announced the album in the first place because now you're building anticipation and not giving any real details to when the actual album will be released, which is wack.
He has probably gone back to that wack s*** he does when he announces an album title when he hasn't even started working on the album yet and we don't get the album until a year later. I just hope that isn't the case.

I'm just saying the 'I made {past tense} an album to go with the book {that was releasing that day}' reaaallllyyy made it sound imminent. Had a lot of people thinking it was complete and about to drop that Friday. DR said scan the dogs daily for updates like we were about to get a one-week rollout with new info really soon. Now we're 2.5 weeks post-QR code with nothing new.....
It just felt disingenuous to me. They should've known what they were doing and kept quiet until they were ready to actually start a roll-out

I mean, he gave us a time frame. The producers handling the final duties have been giving updates. I personally feel so appreciative of how Drake and his team stay in contact with the fans. Some artists would make that announcement post and you wouldn't hear about it again at all.
Obviously, the way we've been fed throughout the course of his career has made me more patient and tolerant of the "teasing" so that contributes to my mindset I guess.
