“We’ve been really focusing on dialing in on the fans at home and making performances a cinematic experience, and we want to do that with the Super Bowl,” says Tesfaye. Slaiby adds that, though the organizers are as usual covering all production costs, Tesfaye put up $7 million of his own money to “make this halftime show be what he envisioned.”

    thank youuuuu exactly my point

The Super Bowl is like 100x Coachella headlining sets put together. It's a centerpiece on any resume... and Drake is OBSESSED with his resume. He's the most competitive artist out there.

Absolutely no way this is true.

They really think this nigga said yes to performing at the Billboard Music Awards but turned down the Super Bowl

    Utter delusion

exactly, all he can do so far is compare himself. if he's bragging about 400 mil deal and still flexing on exes a decade later why wouldnt he do the same about the superbowl

lmao why do you think Travis performs at the Grammys still

they dangle awards over these artist’s head bc that’s something intangible that they can get themselves

Do you think Travis Scott would say no to the Super Bowl?

Also, Travis has a total of zero Grammys and still shows up to perform. Drake never attended the Grammys anymore.

So again I will ask, you honestly believe that Drake says yes to the Billboard Awards but says no to both the Grammys and the Super Bowl?

  • Sep 10, 2024

this the same nigga that said he talked to drake and knows for a fact drake planted the fake info about the daughter

This and why would he pay to do the halftime show when he can get booked $3,000,000 for a concert

A 30 second ad slot at the super bowl costs $7 million before you even factor in the cost of making the actual ad. As a performer you get 13 - 15 minutes of promotion which can be cheaper than the 30 second ad (albeit still expensive) itself.

not necessarily bc he’s a performance geared artist but he can tour forever so I feel like it’s more of a personal checklist thing for him

and most of the time artists do super bowls on their way out of their primes than in them

The logic still makes no sense.

No artist on planet Earth is saying yes to the Billboard Awards (the glorified equivalent of the VMAs), but saying no to the biggest performance slot year after year in America

Obviously. You got to be extremely stupid if you don't believe that they have reached out to him during his 2011-2023 run

Absoultely. I would actually go as far and say that the NFL probably reached out to him in 2009

I mean I don’t think drake is a performance based artist to begin with, wouldn’t help him in any case

He’s always shy’d away from performing in general because the difference in him as a live act and as a recording artist is his Achilles heel (as opposed to Kendrick)

he only uses performances as promotion in ways that he can control and not as major highlights for himself because he does the numbers as a recording artist to not push that aspect of himself if I was to critique him myself
