This and why would he pay to do the halftime show when he can get booked $3,000,000 for a concert

agreed but most artists pay out of pocket for extra production costs at the super bowl so they can sell larger spaces on the backend and that’s to say if a Ticketmaster isn’t helping with a massive investment already

it’s just an investment when it comes to touring if you’re already peaking touring wise

easy way to predict a sustainable 5-10 years as a legacy artist

that being said drake will always sell as a concert experience so any other conversation is silly

“We’ve been really focusing on dialing in on the fans at home and making performances a cinematic experience, and we want to do that with the Super Bowl,” says Tesfaye. Slaiby adds that, though the organizers are as usual covering all production costs, Tesfaye put up $7 million of his own money to “make this halftime show be what he envisioned.”

Maybe if he wasn’t trying to s*** on literal Prince when he was alive, people would feel different. This looked odd bc everybody knew Prince didn’t like this man.

Prince dissed him unprovoked so he got his s*** off

this is very obvious. he literally says in the song he's bigger than the super bowl. this is all very beneath him and kencels pretending this is an enviable achievement are truly childish.

yeah i performed at the super bowl last week. so played out

    now watch Better Call Saul

Yup that’s next on da watch list

  • Sep 10, 2024

sounds like no city wanted to pick him on their shortlist

and if true, interstinbg Drake purposely never put Wayne on the Superbowl even tho theyre crying he should be there

  • Sep 10, 2024

No, I don't believe this. Drake obsesses over American culture and he would NEVER turn down the chance to be the first rapper to headline the biggest event of the year in American media.

If Taylor Swift has been on the list Drake definitely has

It would definitely have been after Views though so 2017 onward

And tbh they didn't even have a single rap artist that entire decade lol

rap was not allowed at the super bowl at all until like 2018/2019

I mean, lol mal f***ing clown ass, but drake has in all likelihood been offered multiple times

I would not be surprised to learn kendrick had been offered in the past too

it's a lot of people that turn down the half time show

I mean offered a feature on the superbowl like how Travis dropped in to perform in the Maroon 5 halftime show , sure. I find it hard to believe that they ever wanted Drake to headline a solo halftime performance like what Kendrick is doing though

I dont beleve it but tht is my personal opinion, this is such a big thng that i think this requires drke to provide proof

  • Sep 10, 2024

Please add "via Mal" to the title

  • Sep 10, 2024

They did offer it to rihanna 5 times before her superbowl so it could be true

  • Sep 10, 2024

I'm aware, the point is that it's really not farfetched for Drake to have been offered it

Yeah but the discussion is about Kendrick who is headlining the Superbowl. With the context in the convo, it sounds like Mal is insinuating Drake was offered to headline the Superbowl in the past as well which I find hard to believe

Eminem even got offered the world cup and declined, they went to 50 to ask Em

He really did that s*** for Dre

em isnt into sports thats why and he never cared for big performances - doesnt mean hes better or worst but thats just how he is

unlike kendrick and especially jay z n drake

The Super Bowl is like 100x Coachella headlining sets put together. It's a centerpiece on any resume... and Drake is OBSESSED with his resume. He's the most competitive artist out there.

Absolutely no way this is true.
