I love the art direction and animation, but I don’t get why they think this is the appropriate route to take the series. Why not just continue with the Super manga material that hasn’t been adapted and then maybe transition into something like this. If they wanted to redo some GT arcs or ideas then they easily could and actually get it right this time, but it’s weird to start with the most controversial one.

This has zero to do with GT. Like none. This series won't even have transformations.
