That's absolutely pathetic. 44 years old btw. Feels good to be on the winning side lol

it's pretty good but i like released more
feel like this is the 5th straight album this was said for tho so idk how much weight "rushed" holds when it comes to Kanye
Cus this "rush" def wasn't like JIK, Ye or TLOP release at all. was much more polished on release day
every Kanye album is “rushed” in some sense because he works a lot when its crunch time and he’s most inspired right before its about to drop
I would say this one stands out as being polished but not in a great way, Mike Dean is such an underrated mixer and the mix on the first version of TLOP was flat in the same way the mix on this album is kinda flat which makes sense given he wasn’t involved in the mix of this album, it still sounds great but besides Pure Souls outro it seems very cut and dry and like he just got the best most clearest mixer around to do it which is kinda boring
ye and JIK had great mixes imo that had a lot of character and charm to them even if they were heavily criticised for some bold creative decisions

Pusha off the grid is a reference track
kanye has the weird habit of rushing and changing things days before the official drop
the last time he actually had an organized drop/rollout was... when mbdtf droped
Back when he couldn't update an album because CDs had to be pressed weeks beforehand. Streaming is the worst thing to happen to the quality of Kanye's music. He's like the George Lucas of music, can't just leave s*** alone
"After West played him a rough cut of the album that Rubin thought was due out next year, the producer spent two hectic weeks helping West shape the album to meet a deadline that was a mere five weeks away. “We ended up working probably 15 days, 16 days, long hours, no days off, 15 hours a day. I was panicked the whole time,” Rubin said.
The rough cut ran nearly three and a half hours, Rubin said, and West had initially intended Yeezus to have 16 songs. Rubin suggested trimming. “That first day, before he even asked me to work on it, I said, ‘Maybe you should make it more concise. Maybe this is two albums. Maybe this is just the first half,'” Rubin said. “That was one of the first breakthroughs. Kanye was like, ‘That’s what I came here today to hear! It could be 10 songs!'”

Maybe Jesus is Lord is not this long triumphant song, but just a short interlude?
That's what I wanted to hear.
would like to see updated credits for the album, the engineers that hadn’t been credited yet are saying they’re coming at some point
Can you advice his best albums?
Something/Anything is one of my favorite albums ever. It's a double album full of power pop, art pop, soft rock tunes and he plays all the instruments on 3/4ths of the album
The album afterwards A Wizard, a True Star is a total 180 and is this psychedelic, experimental pop odyssey that is still mindblowing to this day. Def peep that after Something/Anything

absolutely crazy what he did to god breathed
Todd wasn't around for even the first Atlanta party it seems so he likely had no idea how the album progressed in its final month. It says he doesn't even know for sure if his stuff is on the album so who knows if he even fully heard it either
So why tf he even saying this?
Didn’t Kanye complain the label dropped it early without his consent, he wanted to drop same day as Drake
No that’s a false narrative
He wanted to drop with the Dababy feature on Jail Pt.2 but Dababy manager initially blocked it, probably because he didn’t want Dababy to be on the same record as Marylin Manson.
It’s a possibility that Universal was trying to avoid Ye and Drake dropping the same day, BUT the album probably would’ve been out a couple days earlier if the Dababy BS didn’t happen. That was Ye’s main issue.
Did all the best songs on Donda before Kanye stole them for himself and removed him
Interesting I don’t think Donda was rushed at all. Definitely was expanded, but I think people hearing the album change live gives the wrong impression it was rushed. Really the whole heart of the record is done by ATL LP1 and then it just gets refined from there imo and songs fleshed out.
Also a lot of the songs that were “new” were slated to be performed at ATL LP1 but Ye cut it short.
The amount it changed from the first listening party to the release makes it seem rushed. That was a lot of changes taking place in a short amount of time right before the album's release
