Pusha off the grid is a reference track
yea most of these are, but i was just saying how 2020 versions of tracks, even idea-wise are very different.
Did all the best songs on Donda before Kanye stole them for himself and removed him
How do u know?
Something/Anything is one of my favorite albums ever. It's a double album full of power pop, art pop, soft rock tunes and he plays all the instruments on 3/4ths of the album
The album afterwards A Wizard, a True Star is a total 180 and is this psychedelic, experimental pop odyssey that is still mindblowing to this day. Def peep that after Something/Anything
Ok, thank you, that sounds pretty awesome
Cuz all the reference tracks leaked years ago ….. ?
Oh never listened to them
Didn’t Kanye complain the label dropped it early without his consent, he wanted to drop same day as Drake
He complain they were dropping it without DaBaby clearance but then they got it so it dropped (doesn't seem he realised it had dababy on)
If it was gonna drop the week after he Def would have been working on it up until that week imo
Damn
We have any idea what it was like pre-Rick? I’m assuming Rick is the reason why it was only 13 tracks

had a love story.
But some sentiments in the article are true
Like what really was the point of multiple songs with multiple versions and multiple artists
I liked donda but this was his worst application of artist cohesion, Especially compared how he’s utilized collaboration in the past. It felt like he wanted people for the sake of it

gonna f***ing cry
The amount it changed from the first listening party to the release makes it seem rushed. That was a lot of changes taking place in a short amount of time right before the album's release
You think so? Really what I just remember is lyrics and mixes getting refined for the most part. 40+ days later to get the final album is actually a lot of time especially for Kanye. A lot of musicians make changes up to the drop. Drake CLB even has refinements like that. Hence some of the lyrics referencing new Ye stuff and it coming at 2 am est.
rundgren is a legend, this wouldn't be the first time he has difficulty getting along with famous collaborators

It also doesn't help that tracks were added after the release. Makes it seem rushed to the point of not even being finished on release. Whether or not any of that actually makes it rushed, idk. I'm just speaking to the optics

it was heavily unfinished. it was either cutting back a lot of the songs or not finishing the album in time. even though i desire to hear most of this stuff, which i won't get to, I'm not sad that we got the released version in the state it released in.
no, it was a masterpiece that wasn't rushed nor did it have any mistakes. everything was intentional and perfect.

I thought I saw somewhere that even on LP1 the performance list included a lot of what came in the following LPs, it’s just that he cut it short.

thats facts the final product is a classic as is
lol we’re gonna hear a lot of stories bc obviously Kanye was off the meds and offended some ppl during this process
If anything altering the music even after release shows how dedicated Ye is to presenting his vision
The drake argument is one thing but at least be consistent in how you attack the album
