I'm not hating on the kid, I like The Weeknd's (old) music but it's just facts. He's nowhere near as successful as Drake. He won't experience having 9 out of 10 songs on the Hot 100 top 10
Pleaseeeee go outside I’m begging you
Was Yeezus not on time? Don’t remember the rollout too much just remember the leak
he recorded and changed things at rick rubin's house
Interesting I don’t think Donda was rushed at all. Definitely was expanded, but I think people hearing the album change live gives the wrong impression it was rushed. Really the whole heart of the record is done by ATL LP1 and then it just gets refined from there imo and songs fleshed out.
Also a lot of the songs that were “new” were slated to be performed at ATL LP1 but Ye cut it short.

He basically changed the whole album with Rick Rubin lmao

9 songs out of 10 of top 100
Do you even like the music or just that it’s on billboard?
A lot of the 2020 songs made it here though
Production is great, all the features did there thing, mixing was top tier and Kanye was rapping the best he has in a long time
Only problem with the album is that there's some unnecessary songs on there
most of the 2020 songs were completely reworked and barely resembled their old versions.

2020 praise god was similar to this.

2020 24 like this

2020 gbot

2020 ttv

2020 off the grid
all basically different songs
He had 2 public beta listenings before releasing the final product, seems like he took his time with it
Pleaseeeee go outside I’m begging you
you literally have 10 times the amount of posts that I do, so take your own advice kid
Kanye rushed to drop at the same time as Drake or Kanye rushed to drop before Drake. What is it?
He rushed to drop before Drake. He thought Donda would last more than 3 days and ruin CLB release... but he was wrong.
He basically changed the whole album with Rick Rubin lmao
Damn
We have any idea what it was like pre-Rick? I’m assuming Rick is the reason why it was only 13 tracks
Kind of sounds similar to how Paul mccartney and Kanye 'collaborated'...Paul seemed like a good sport about it tho
Paul got 3 top 40 (including a top 5) singles out of it so its kinda a different scenario. Also got to perform at the Grammys and have full on solo sessions with Ye. Kanye made it sound like them doing an album was shot down by a higher up but at Paul was happy about the experience
Todd was just a part of the ensemble and backed out probably even before the 1st listening party
Damn

bound 2 was different (bound 1 with tyler)

Yeah, some people probably think that feat with them would be a special moment on the album, but Kanye has so many people on his records that I see how it can be frustrating.

You are literally taking Drake’s achievements and flaunting them as your own
Posted from my job btw
Todd Rundgren is one of the GOATs put some respect on his name
he is known to be hard to work with, much like Kanye lol
Can you advice his best albums?
Damn

"After West played him a rough cut of the album that Rubin thought was due out next year, the producer spent two hectic weeks helping West shape the album to meet a deadline that was a mere five weeks away. “We ended up working probably 15 days, 16 days, long hours, no days off, 15 hours a day. I was panicked the whole time,” Rubin said.
The rough cut ran nearly three and a half hours, Rubin said, and West had initially intended Yeezus to have 16 songs. Rubin suggested trimming. “That first day, before he even asked me to work on it, I said, ‘Maybe you should make it more concise. Maybe this is two albums. Maybe this is just the first half,'” Rubin said. “That was one of the first breakthroughs. Kanye was like, ‘That’s what I came here today to hear! It could be 10 songs!'”

That's the process of music man
We not supposed to hear leaks
very curious to see how Todd Rundgren's contributions played out in the process
he is a studio wizard after all much like Kanye and Prince
But it didn't drop same date they actively avoided dropping same date
Didn’t Kanye complain the label dropped it early without his consent, he wanted to drop same day as Drake

Oh wow, thank you for this
So this s*** was unfinished and still better? Tf
Todd wasn't around for even the first Atlanta party it seems so he likely had no idea how the album progressed in its final month. It says he doesn't even know for sure if his stuff is on the album so who knows if he even fully heard it either
