You'd prefer a race outside your own probably cause of a characteristic you see in them but that's cause of the narrative you've built about them

For instance, you have blonde whites, brown-haired whites, black haired whites, and gingers.

With regard to black people, you have darkskinned black people, light skinned black people, and brown skinned black people.

in the end though i do wanna spend the rest of my life with a black man bc im black but if it didn't happen like that then hey whatever

i feel like it depends on intentions. i feel like feeling the way i feel vs "im only attracted to white men because the men of my race are awful" or "i like latinas because they're spicy and have fat asses" is strange

i think it's very understandable to have a preference for women from your own ethnic group. dating outside of your ethnicity, let alone outside of your race, can be a big culture shock and women from your ethnic group will probably understand you better due to having similar experiences and the same culture.

on the flip side, when you have a preference for women of a particular ethnicity that isn't your own you have to question if it's due to some sort of fetishism, because unless you were adopted and grew up mostly around those women, why would have a preference for them?
