idk I guess you can say they're not connecting like they used to but these are pretty massive records, they sound and feel like mega hits to me and if you can't tell the difference between Jimmy cooks, and first person shooter vs like, Hold on we're going on and some of his other choices for singles in the earlier portions of his career then okay, you got it gang no debate.

You're not really using chart data meaningfully though. The whole argument here is that post-pandemic Drake singles debut at #1 off name value and crater a week later.
Considering the sad state of the charts, I would say a mega-hit was likely the biggest song in the country for more than a week. That's a metric I care about, at least.

If we're talking mega-hits, these songs really are more comparable to Carnival (not a mega-hit) than One Dance or God's Plan. These songs have hung around, but mega-hit? Really?
I think this discussion says just as much about the state of the music industry as it does about Drake's current ability to make hits.
