I like Surf's Up but the songs on PS are just better.

Hammock
I can't not judge the consistency when they released an album like Pet Sounds which is damn near perfect.
Surf's Up is the only other studio album which is pretty close to PS.
Rather listen to The Smile Sessions with all their best material on there.
anything that follows an album like pet sounds will always pale in comparison. not many bands or artists can deliver multiple masterpieces consecutively, but those that have deserve all the praise in the world (genesis, radiohead, stereolab, etc.)

On the real to me that’s crazy to think something like Holland or So Tough would be inconceivable to be a contender, they ultra consistent but I guess I can only convince @Ithaka itt
