I don’t but it’s also really obvious the strings being pulled which just makes it annoying.
How does a female rap MIXTAPE sell 11k and get Grammy nominated? Something like that would never happen for Latto, JT, etc.
And yea you can argue she’s “more talented and makes better music” but in general no female rapper has ever got recognition like that from the Grammys while completely not doing any numbers.
No female rapper could ever drop a MIXTAPE and be named woman of the year across the entire music industry without some special pulls
What special strings do yall think are being pulled bro
the girl is just leagues ahead of her peers. thats it

First week sales aren’t everything. The album has been doing well on a weekly basis. It will go platinum.
Section.80 did 5k first week and Kendrick blew up overnight off that tape.
None of that happened til after the Grammys campaign though. Denial Is a River went viral and the album recharted AFTER the campaign of performances and celebrity endorsements she got following her Grammy nomination.
The mixtape charted 1 week at first, fell off, had no songs get traction.
Then she magically scored a Grammy nom and had a bunch of things lined up to campaign a win. She even got a Grammys performance which is crazy cause no female rapper has ever got that before even dropping a debut album

!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XyoLUYKn5KkNone of this performance capability was even known or exhibited til after her nomination lmaoo.
Yall acting like she been going around for years doing amazing performances and finally got recognition. This literally all happened in line overnight
Name her performances that were going viral and well acclaimed on social media prior to the Grammy nomination

Ok so then show me Doechii performances that went viral on social media and got lots of acclaim/traction prior to her nomination
I feel like people forget or don't know that she had a very popular song like just two years ago. her rise is pretty easy to track and hell yea her label has given her a push post mixtape release but clearly people are also responding to it and not just fans but the industry as well. and perhaps that's the difference... the industry love is taking her to another level

Nigga he didn’t read what I said to begin with there’s no need to move the goalpost.
As a huge Drake fan every nigga hits a crossroad where they aren’t as tapped in anymore and instead of just recognizing it as that they blame everyone else for trying to trick them

It’s weird they didn’t have any of this budget or effort put up PRIOR to the mixtape dropping or even when it first dropped.
It just dropped, then months later after a Grammy nomination got pushed on TV, radio, and had celebrities promoting it.
Performance def ain’t go viral but ok.

we really gotta get rid of this first week sales trap because especially in this day and age, it's all about the promotion for the project AFTER its been released
Yeah, it's a push. Ain't this what it was like in the 2000s? I'm not mad at it. That's what a label is supposed to do
One minute it’s them crying over the death of mono culture and then the next it’s them complaining about the industry tryna bring it back as best they can
Denial def was a whole other type of viral run than whatever tf you just linked.
theres that goal post movement

her tiny desk has 12m views (outpacing sabrina carpenter and olivia rodrigo)
grammys has 8m between her account and the grammys
late show has 4.5m
genius open mic has 9m
flog gnaw has no official uploads but one of them has 0.8m views
she's a great performer and is going viral for it
Why would you promote an album more as more people start to listen an word of mouth grows
