This game was really only unplayable on last gen systems, I played day 1 on series X and only had like 3 bugs happen, 2 minor one I had to reload my game

Cmon dude, game was a f***ing mess prior to the next-gen update.

It’s now, almost 2 years post release, in the state it should have been when it dropped.

They should’ve just cancelled the last gen-versions, it’s clear they built the game with PC in mind at MAX and had to scramble to get the s*** working elsewhere.

Gamers wouldn’t accept a one year delay let alone a 2 year and investors wanted them to move on to create multiplayer, Witcher 3 next gen and their next project in a pandemic so I give them a break . Lol like yes people were hyped but it’s never that serious

Also people need to stop reaching like it’s some “revisionist” history going on . Just because some people think the core game was always good to them doesn’t mean they can’t simultaneously agree that it was a broken piece of s*** on most platforms . I’m just happy the dev team that got thrown this bad situation can see their work receive love now . Blame investors if anything but not the devs

Basically this. I just feel CD Projekt Red was getting way too much f***ing hate at the time for something entirely out of their hands. Like yes CD Projekt Red is surprisingly a rich company and actually on the stock market but devleopment schedules, rushing and setting realistic expectations isn't in their hands.

Also they were fire with Witcher 2 and 3 and set the model for free DLC so was kind of surprised to see everyone turn on them so fast

It’s like they built the world for next gen and upper mid to high end PCs and then the gameplay was scrambled to fit older gen. If they abandoned the previous gen maybe we would have gotten some of the other features they wanted in the game.

Yo gotta say that then bro, your post only says CD Projekt Red.

Yeah obviously the devs knew better than anyone else that the game wasn't ready and its not their fault, but the company itself did so much public posturing and moral grandstanding as if they were so enlightened and better than others in the industry only to have one of the worst launches in history. As a company they deserved to get s*** on

God damn the anime is incredibly good, they need to hire these writers for the next game. Pacing was all over the place in this game.

I mean, that’s the case of every open world game of this type. Pacing of this game’s main story I’d say is better than the W3’s.

I was worried that with the initial launch reception we wouldn't get a sequel that could deliver what they initially promised, but this resurgence definitely let's them know that people are still interested

Wonder how the expansion of the game is gonna work since it takes place before the end.

Is it just gonna be a side quest branch that becomes available at some point during the main story, or will they actually integrate it into the main game?

Also, will they introduce new mechanics that can carry over?
