I'm still in watson, do the side quests or anything start getting better? So far these gigs are pretty boring and just basic. Everyone raved about the side quests and I've only ran into a handful of meaningful ones. Idk if it's because I'm still early in or if the game is just like that.
Also are there infinite assaults and crimes?

Gigs aren’t the real side missions, real missions are called side jobs. But you’re still in Watson

Let's not act like everyone getting refunds on PS4 isn't going to buy another copy when those patches come out and the PS5 gets restocked

    This is true

Not even the worst, in the other endings V becomes a construct the moment you connect to Mikoshi, your original V dies, you either give your body to Johnny or let your construct take it then die in 6 months. In the Arasaka ending at least your original V is still there (with the chip removed). Pretty much all endings boil down to either: die now, or die in 6 months

Yeah all of them are silly

    Fake last gen gameplay, jfc

They deliberately hide PS4/Xbox gameplay and used deceitful tactics by showing PC gameplay. They neglected last gen so badly they didn't want it to be known to the public before release. That's why we the media was put under harsh embargos.

put like 4 more hours into this yesterday, putting my total at ~25. just made it past the second time you get to play as Johnny. still enjoying it a lot, especially now that the combat has leveled out from having bullet sponge enemies, or maybe my weapons are just stronger idk.

been doing most of the side jobs that come my way, only old ones i haven’t done yet is the T Bug one and the Beat the Brat ones. think my pause screen percentages are at something like 75% 30% 30%

the writing is surprisingly good, albeit a lil cheesy and angst-y at times, and i’ve found the voice acting to be great. there was one point tho when i was talking to Misty about the Tarot mission, my female V’s voice switched over to male V and that s*** had me cryingggg

They been literally lying since then..

I feel like people don’t actually know about CDPR REALLY.

Witcher 2 released literally unfinished and parts of it were just straight up broken and the combat was BAD at launch.

They literally pumped out the enhanced edition like 6 months later when it was finally all finished and things were reworked (sometimes from the ground up).

The Witcher 3 was also a management debacle and actually ended up being what it was intended to be (there was an entire act cut and character arcs from the previous games cut along with it, so they essentially disappeared entirely). And that doesn’t even get into the downgrade fiasco, which was obvious as all hell, and yet CDPR DENIED what we were clearly seeing right before our eyes.

And then there was also the fact that 60% of the people who worked on The Witcher 3 left after the game was released.

CDPR was always a messy ass company, just that they’re much more prominent now than they were. None of this is actually all new and shouldn’t be shocking, in fact I’m shocked that so many people (especially in games media) seem to be so shocked.

They ALL got sucked into it.

i think the difference this time around is the ridiculous amount of false promises that were made over the cycle of this game's marketing. also the fact that it was announced damn near a decade a year ago and it still launched in this super rough state caters to the disappointment of people as well.

Witcher 3 was barely an RPG and had one of the most static open worlds you can can come across in the genre.

I don’t know why people were so quick to believe that CDPR could pull off a game that was as mechanically deep and branching as the one they pitched. Hell, go look at that 2018 demo, that s*** is obviously a proof of concept (and at times is straight up even presented as such, with the “work in progress-subject to change” disclaimer at the bottom).

Compare that s*** to The Witcher 3. It looks like it was made by an entirely different studio. That kind of a leap would not happen in the span of a few years (by that point).

Everyone should have known there was no way in hell a game of this size and scope was going to look that good, play that smoothly, and be that reactive on a consistent basis. It isn’t feasible, and especially not by a company as disorganized and inexperienced as CDPR.

Everyone should have went into this game expecting what was likely going to happen. A game that was going to be janky as s***, with messy combat (still better than W3’s), balancing issues, bad AI, and some filler content (NCPD scanners are basically the equivalent of Monster Nests/Bandit Camps.

Like all of CDPR’s previous games, the things that elevate them to greatness are the music, the art direction, the performances, the animation, the detail and the writing.

    Same as it ever was.

Sounds like an excuse to blame the consumer VS holding cdpr accountable for s***ty management and continued bad game development practice
