IMO Yes, but that really shouldn’t take anything from movie. For as much this movie is getting raved about there is no memorable scenes for me.

I think he was trying to encourage Bear to ask her out, knowing she'd reject him and he wouldn't have to keep feeling guilty about hooking up with her. Also a bit of sabotage telling him to call her Freaky Nikki

It’s art so it’s objective n all that but yeah I don’t get how u can’t respect this movie from just a craft level. Is it the most original concept? no, but nothing really is. It’s the way they executed the idea
