simple, you got 3 movements on this moment , the way i see it, that will control the airwaves the next years:
A) Drill: Fivio Foreign and so on
B) Cloud Rap: Carti, Uzi , Yeat and so on
C) 20’s Boom Bap: Griselda Movement
Drakeo was leading the new LA with Remble and Bluebucksclan also
You d*** eatin why?
I can tell you a lame lol if you went out at all during the peak pandemic, pop smoke was literally everywhere. Nigga was bout to be a real problem, his s*** was hard but he also had s*** for hoes too.

Yeah, that’s wrong lol. Nigga meet the woo 1 hit the streets like crack lol especially after he got that GATTI look from Travis Scott. Shoot for the stars made him into a legitimate superstar.

Again did you read what I wrote.
I don't think he would've blew the way his post humous album did. Music was there just not hype around him.
For the slow people overreacting, do you not realize how big his first posthumous album was? It was almost as big as astroworld. He would not have done anywhere near that if he was alive.
You mean the era of prime Young Money, MBDTF, Eminem's comeback, and the beginning of the "blog era."
Nah...I can't cosign this at all. The past 2 years feels way more stagnant in the mainstream than that era. Indie scene is doing great though.
Indie scene is going crazy, Larry June going up in a major way with his Dom Kennedy/Wiz style and his player/healthy s***.
Lol they giving cordae all the big features and co-signs and his girl one of the most famous athletes in the world. They want him to basically be new school JCole but he’s corny and comes off as inauthentic when he tries to be cool. JCole was cool in a normal nigga way which is why he blew like he did (⏸) and was very skilled out the gate.
facts
Honestly i think Pop Smoke was diverse enough (based on his first posthemous release) to be one of the next superstars
bruh he was already on the verge of supe om b4 he died
yo wait look at this u cant type superstar dom as one word

Never watched the vid but I seen the title and just thought to myself “this s*** isn’t dead,it’s just ingrained in the culture now”. Like, the clout rap era taught a lot of this era how to rap, promote and get people to listen with social media. How different can we expect the new era to be when they were taught by this previous generation?
Rap is being filled with less creative kids and more clout chasers then ever, and rap listeners are starting to view the s*** more like WWE and less like an art form. So honestly,I think the next rap superstar is more of an entertainer then any other rapper before him and he continues stretch this never ending era that won’t go away.
TBFH tho, imo,i think Kendricks next LP dictates the future of Hip Hop more then a lot of these artists. His next album is so important,

it was a pandemic nigga who was outside? 🤣

putting the future of the genre in the hands of 18 yr old fiends and crash dummys might have been the wrong move
Jack Harlow is not a light skin nigga. He is white.
Edit: This was in response to a now deleted post calling Jack Harlow a light skin nigga.
yeah he white skin but he still a dark n

Never thought about it like that, you might be onto something fr.

Of course it was and that’s what label heads wanted. Hip Hop is so unimportant now, shit isn’t art anymore,it’s just entertainment. Being a top rapper means Jackshit nowadays when the game dumber then it’s ever been.
Never thought about it like that, you might be onto something fr.
The future gotta come from somewhere
it was a pandemic nigga who was outside? 🤣
Y’all niggas nerds lol s*** was lit that summer #iykyk
Fr you could tell it was a strategic placement
The label to the photographer "tell her to put that leg up lil bit more"

Hes about to do that rock s***, RIP hip hop
Hes about to do that rock s***, RIP hip hop
Hope he’s just trying to throw people for a loop but I don’t blame him. This rap s*** is really dead creatively
We won’t see come ups in the same way.
Something you have to recognize is the generational divides and influences. The Wale/Drake/ J Cole/ Kendrick era rappers were all influenced by a lot of what they grew up with. They controlled the narrative at the time with the infancy of the internet era. Soul, r&b and BB rap. There was a drive to bring that back and everyone was f***ing with it. There is talent involved with every person named not just short lived gimmicks. Rappers born in the early 90s same s***. When you get to the Uzi era of rap these were all kids influenced by Lil B and Soulja. Mostly internet rap in short. Not boom bap or soul like their older peers. The more time goes on the more distant upcoming artists will be from the roots outside of a few anomaly’s. We are only a few years away from the next big things biggest idol to be some random Tik Tok guy. It’s less about the craft more about the clout and making money now. We won’t see artistry the same. We already don’t.
At this point I feel like they about to make a name for rap music that's not for black people
It'll still have the elements of hip hop but it'll be marketed towards everybody but black people
Like how rock is blues for white folks
Pop is R&B for white folks
Big band is jazz for white folks
💀
