I think my thing that people keep missing is the role of the consumer outrage more so than what dababy says or does. Bc dababy’s already showed you what kinda s*** he’s on. You the consumer made a decision to buy into it.
Say I go to a comedy club right? And the comic is known to be aggressive and take shots and be disrespectful. And I’m laughing along enjoying the show. Then he gets to the joke about my community and I become offended and call for his cancellation.
My point is if you pay to consume ignant s*** to laugh and have a good time, and then something about it offends you one day, you should blame yourself bc that was what the entertainer’s persona is. You chose to be there and chose to be entertained.
As for white people speaking up about violence in hip hop, no one is asking for that at all. I think it would come off s***ty. But I do think you should be honest about what offends and doesn’t offend you and be honest with how consistent you are. Or you can separate art and the artist.

I’m just calling out hypocrites who focus on one part of the problem and not misogyny, killing, and other aspects of the culture that are detrimental to our well-being. If you’re going to take that stance, go all out and keep the same energy for every else.
Craig Jenkins has covered murder, misogyny, sexual violence, you name it by artists in hip hop, you are brushing off a gay black journalists response to a homophobic speech by saying "yeah but what about, what about what about what about". I didn’t equate at anything actually. I actually drew out the differences between Dababy rapping up violence etc and being homophobic.
I never put a race label on gay people when I discussed them which clearly means im talking about ALL gay people.
