This outrage didn't start with something he said in a song. So you're already wrong. People have been way more lenient with the art. Controversy and transgression and subversiveness are "cool" in media. It's a portal to the forbidden. It's our repressed desires and violent urges we stymie with our moralism. It's cathartic and freeing. Plenty of people can do that without being a bigot.

Now, real world violence is bad. We all agree on that. We should also agree it stems from poor material conditions and is only reflected back to us in art. Bigotry can also be said to stem from poor material conditons, and other sources like religion, but there is a key difference. Tons of people make great art about violence. What's the last piece of great art about bigotry? The movie Zola is great. I can't think of much music. DMX or Pop Smoke drop a bigoted line, but that isn't why the song itself is good.

But yeah, none of this matters. Baby will keep being Baby. People are mad at him online. You're mad at people mad at him online. You are choosing to spend your time on this.

Nope, it’s not his fault. That’s apart of the biggest issue. The systematic racism that caused him to grow up in that environment, which shaped his ideology, influences his choices. How he grew up influenced him to have these strong thoughts of gay people

I’m just calling out hypocrites who focus on one part of the problem and not misogyny, killing, and other aspects of the culture that are detrimental to our well-being. If you’re going to take that stance, go all out and keep the same energy for every else.

I’m going to keep saying this. Within hip hop culture, it’s disingenuous and hypocritical to take such an adamant stance on this and then simultaneously not have any moral urgency on the overwhelming content that should be deemed as wrong. If we’re talking right or wrong, it doesn’t make sense. Hip-Hop is very brash and offensive by nature. Right and I see what you’re saying too but don’t you think that’s the responsibility of the African American to shut down this lifestyle of glamorizing violence? Now, of course not every rapper who talks about gangs and d**** is beautifying the idea of it but simply speaking about their personal life which makes it wrong for anyone outside of that community to speak up.

Imagine, Neil Pattrick Harris or Sarah Paulson coming out and saying, “Baby’s lyrics are offensive to me and I can’t support him”. What in the absolute hell do they know what he’s been through? How would you honestly react to a white celebrity saying something about the black culture? With pleasure and respect that they’re speaking up? I highly doubt it.

He said something about a community and that community and their representatives spoke up.

& I’m not commenting on the whole canceling thing, i don’t have the energy to comment on that entire movement but we’ve seen this happen years before cancel culture was even a thing. Athlete / artist has a sexual assault case, does something insane off court, says something extremely offensive and they get dropped in an instant.
