the point is these are so radically different and good for such radically different reasons it doesnt rly make sense to compare or say its some step down because its still amazing music and just as innovative

I know comparisons can seem facile and pointless but assessing who is the most elite has always been how I'm wired (see my threads). In the mid-late 90s I thought nobody was ever gonna touch the hard hitting artistry of Wu Tang but slowly had to start addressing Outkast as peers and then eventually betters. In the 00's I thought nobody would ever come close to Outkast but slowly had to start acknowledging Kanye's run was approaching (and eventually topped) them. I wish Future and Thug were in that conversation but I can't see it.

depends on what you value in music i guess but future and thug's prime is just as good and id rather put that s*** on anyway, atl as a whole is way higher quality in 2010s than it was in the 90s outkast had incredible songs but its not like all their albums were nothing but amazing untouchable s***
