Yeah everybody since Outkast "hurt the precedent" they set. They did set the bar unfathomably high to be fair tho.

    Braindead old head take

This thread is stupid, Carti is bigger outside of Atlanta than he is in Atlanta on top of that lmao

And none of the new acts even rap like Lil Baby. They're all influenced by Thug, Carti, or drill for the most part. The more unique acts like Kenny Mason and a few others barely even get recognition here or elsewhere

This just an ignorant thread from a white guy that's never set foot in the city to even speak on the music scene here like it's an episode of First Take

One person calls me a P4k/Fantano brain and another calls me an old head which is it

How about y'all just show me an example of any other ATL rapper topping Synthesizer, BOB, Humble Mumble, Gasoline Dreams, Ghetto Music, Chonkyfire etc

  • Apr 25, 2025

These young niggas talentless and rather stream that’s whats really going on. Making music just isn’t for them ngl

F*** it though I’d rather they just leave music alone and not diminish it if they’re just in it for the clout. Streaming is all clout no talent. Win/win in my book

You gotta have talent to stream. It’s a relatively new medium that requires its own set of skills to succeed

  • Apr 25, 2025

Everybody has sounded like they are from Atlanta for a long time so it doesn’t really matter if you from there or not. We’ve been hearing the same sounds & patterns for too long of corse the popularity will dwindle as it should. Atl will keep pushing out better acts than anyone else consistently but yeah it is time for other regions to step ahead

Better rapper yes. Better at aesthetics? Not even close and sadly the music industry is all visual now, the music is just 20% of it

it’s a lot of talented people just in it for the clout too lmfao

Tyler talk all that nerdy rapper s*** then pull up on you in the same $4.7M LaFerrari Travis and Gucci got

i think that’s an unfair assessment. some niggas just really stink louder than others but there’s still talent even with the clout chasers

Having an expensive car doesn’t have anything to do with talent just money. Everyone after money bro that doesn’t really say much.

I’m a be real with you though bro if instagram wasn’t a thing most these kids attempting music wouldn’t even think about it. They’re after notoriety, an image and access to whatever clout and money can buy. Streaming replaced that for a lot of them and if they blow up they still get to hang around rappers and go to rolling loud. Same s*** really if that’s all you’re in it for. The real musicians in it for other reasons.

the image of success is the expensive car, travel/outside lifestyle, and ability to pretty much do whatever they want and them displaying that within their music outside of their talent or ability to garner attention

that s*** is clout now and probably always been

Charisma and a certain kinda it factor, sure. Talent? No

Live streaming ain’t new brother lol ig live been a thing for almost a decade now they just went to do it on a new site and didn’t stay only on ig and youtube with it. This s*** is just youtubing with no edits. Streamers are just youtubers 2.0. Still entertaining people but talent is an overstatement.

Yeah you just chatting now bro lmao

Success as a musician is just a by product of you being able to make money from people liking your songs. Money can buy nice things, having nice things doesn’t equal having internet clout.

If that’s the case then every doctor and dentist with a nice car that can travel anywhere has internet clout.

    how am just chatting now?

how hasn’t fashion, jewelry, cars, and flexing on niggas/bitches not been attached to clout?

and something that talented individuals tended have always eventually displayed like how Dot and Tyler and Doechii doing it now cause it’s needed as well as your talent lol

Halftime would've been a better choice but even that masterpiece just doesn't have the same level of craft and artistry.

P-Funk like my favorite band so maybe I'm just super biased for Outkast cause they had a similar mission statement.

    yeah u prolly are tbh
the point is these are so radically different and good for such radically different reasons it doesnt rly make sense to compare or say its some step down because its still amazing music and just as innovative we r dealing with music so good its basically up to biases and what you value
