Betttt
This is gonna be what AW2 was to AW
I really gotta lock in and run through control and AW2
The boss battles in Control really were awesome but just a tad underutilized in the end, so that’s something I wanted to see improved in the sequel and it looks like they will deliver on that front
I hope they tone down the repetitiveness with having to fight grunt enemies cus that was also one of the setbacks in the first game.
The melee is scaring me....because with both aw1 and c1 Remedy leaned into their true strength (TPS action) and allowed the narrative flourishes to flow unfettered because you knew the gameplay would more than match up. Then aw2 comes along with that, comparatively, dry ass hollow copy of resident evil gameplay tropes....which sheds some light on the imperfections that you'd normally gloss over in the past entries. Now they're doing it again with their other flagship...not feeling super confident. Also just feel like doing DmC/parryslop isn't as creative as what they had before. Just my 2 cents, I'm cautious with this one. Speaking as a lifelong remedy stan
And not for nothing, swapping the protag to this blank slate schlubby white dude "chosen one" is lameeeeee. Jesse wasn't the most original character either necessarily but Dylan never moved my needle
The gunplay in Control wasn’t what sold me on its combat tbh; it’s the marriage of Jesse’s superpowers with it. The levitation and telekinesis provided such a smooth combat flow unlike any other 3rd-person shooters I’ve played (they almost had it with Quantum Break).
I’m sure Remedy will lean even further into that with the sequel.
Let’s hope they get creative enough to differentiate Resonant from other existing hack-&-slash games (will be funny & fascinating if they release it close to Phantom Blade Zero)
Oh yeah what I did love with Control’s gunplay was the lack of ammo management; that was so refreshing in a shooter for me
(shout-out THE FINALS 🗣️)
I hope this will be good. Loved the first one
It looks incredibly good, normally I’d be able to contain my hype but it’s full f***in steam ahead baby
Why not both
Sure, but with my post before that in mind, i was in the goty line of thinking
I really gotta lock in and run through control and AW2
Some of my fav games ever made period
I really gotta lock in and run through control and AW2
Might run through Quantum Break, Control , and Alan Wake II again before this drops
There's speculation that the Chester Bless character mentioned in the Control DLC and Alan Wake II might be the Remedy universe incarnation of Quantum Break's Paul Serene
Confirmed for Q2
It’s going to be a controlled summer
I was expecting this to be delayed into 2027 💀
It only entered full production last year in February
A little Max Payne remake info too
“We now assume that Remedy will receive royalties from the Max Payne project only in 2027 (was Q4’26), even though the game may still be released in 2026.”
