"Biggest game" Remedy has ever mad
New story and "fresh entry point" into the series, don't need to have played the first game, but returning players will recognize things
You play as Dylan Faden (Jesse's brother), deployed by the FBC at the height of a supernatural crisis. Dylan is searching for Jesse and redemption, may have a connection to the chaos
Explore "expansive zones" across the city. Branching missions, encounters and events to tackle in any order. World is "alive, strange and replayable", discoveries that reward curiosity and exploration.
Progression system lets you shape combat styles, exploration, supernatural powers, buffs, weaponry etc
the gameplay looks absolutely incredible, we will be there day one
no matter what
just finished replaying AW2 the other day and remedy rlly got the juice. with this and max payne coming out soon they might be cooking an all time run

honestly just grateful the entire studio wasn’t canned after that disaster, this is what happens when suits over creatives make the decisions

They say new and fresh entry point every time and be lying lol

Their games are big budget but don't sell very well so I don't blame them for trying to move units lol

Right they said this for AW2, but after having actually played it, AW1 and Control are MUST-plays before tackling AW2
Even Square Enix said you can play FF7 Rebirth without playing the predecessor(s)
What if the next hook they’re gonna show off for this game shows Jesse as a playable character, similar to the dual-protagonists setup in AW2
Of course I’d love that, but I do have a concern that they may have spread themselves thin by incorporating two vastly different character playstyles in a single game. I want them to fully flesh out the gameplay possibilities of Dylan’s moveset as much as possible.
Just realized this kinda spoiled the first game for me actually
im about to go find Dylan in there

This sounds GOATed.
This is gonna be what AW2 was to AW
The melee is scaring me....because with both aw1 and c1 Remedy leaned into their true strength (TPS action) and allowed the narrative flourishes to flow unfettered because you knew the gameplay would more than match up. Then aw2 comes along with that, comparatively, dry ass hollow copy of resident evil gameplay tropes....which sheds some light on the imperfections that you'd normally gloss over in the past entries. Now they're doing it again with their other flagship...not feeling super confident. Also just feel like doing DmC/parryslop isn't as creative as what they had before. Just my 2 cents, I'm cautious with this one. Speaking as a lifelong remedy stan
And not for nothing, swapping the protag to this blank slate schlubby white dude "chosen one" is lameeeeee. Jesse wasn't the most original character either necessarily but Dylan never moved my needle
